Anyways, ive started making a second mission cause im feeling up to it again.
I've got the first part pretty much done, but i want to take it from there.
Basically, you get ambushed by a sniper (using XAM's ghillie suit!) and get back-up after that.
It's along some shore-side road near the middle of Sahrani.

Any ideas on how to continue on this?

Is that even possible? Sounds nice though, but i also found a perfect spot for him right now
basically when he sees the first AI soldier, the entire platoon should be in the out and open, and if you dont know where he is, your staring at treelines, but he's allmost like a tree himself ^^

Its quite easy to randomize a spawning point with some scripting, actually scripting in arma isnt that hard at all. Have a look in the Biki and ofpec if you want to learn some.

Edit: Might have to do a car golf mission one day, if it still works in arma

Yeah, can't you make the sniper spawn in some gigantic radius from a point? Or have 3 or 4 snipers in overlapping radii*?

*I get bonus points for using geometric terminology

I made my patrols spawn random in my mission. You can look at that if you still have the mission and want it, SiC.

I've been trying to figure out Youtube and video compression lately, think I have it down ok. I haven't had a chance to Fraps any of the cooping we do in Aus so I made a test video with a little 5 minute thrown together mission.

It's a basic air assault on the northern island by 8 squads of Independants against 10 squads of SLA with BMP-2 support.

I was suprised how quickly we made the SLA run for the hills.

Nice video, i was wondering why don't you guyz use something like Stage6 or Putfile to upload your vids to? Both those web sites offer allot better compression than Youtube so you keep the quality and resolution, just a thought.

There wont be any co-op for me for the next two weekends im afraid.
Tomorrow im going to Belgium for a trainingweekend, im gonna work at that company for the summer as an outdoor sports-instructor (wich is my education). When i get back from that weekend i immediately hop onto a night-train to Austria to go ski-ing.

When i get back from ski-ing, i have one weekend available, then im going to belgium for an entire week of survival, then i have another available weekend, and them im away for 2 whole weeks in France, for exams on several outdoors activities like climbing, absailing, kayakking etc.

So, busy time ahead of me! But, when thats all done, im done for this year except for the 8 weeks remaining in Belgium in the summer, as an instructor.

If I play Red Orchestra on an Australian server I get a ping of 300. For ArmA that could be good enough.

But still the time difference is nearly twelve hours.

A question:

Does anyone here like the AKM? I think it is completly inaccurate and the sights are horrible (I would be better off with aiming over the barrel). The M16 is like walking on clouds compared to it.

Edit: Damn an AKM is not an AK-74 but an AK-47. Of course I was rreferring to the AKS' or AK-74 ...

Do you mean the AK74?

I haven't seen or used any variants of the AK47 in game, but the sights on the AK74 are horible, yes. It makes a nice noise though

EDIT: and playing with australian people is doable, it just has to be at weekends to get much chance of matching times.

Meh... I'll take an AK74 over a M16 anyday in arma, the AK74 feels stronger in some weird way.

The worsest gun is the M4 with red dot and silencer. Feels like a freaking airsoft.

DraKon2k: Buy arma, it's an excellent game and more addons are coming. Then join a clan which plays CO-OP. My clan make our own missions, it's great fun.
