Thanks for the reply. I will probably OC my CPU (AMD 965) but I will be stuck with this CPU for at least 2+ years. In the CPU test I went from 9 to 16 frame rates over the 9950BE. :p It seems to run the game pretty decently now with a lot of units unlike before, so I have a feeling my video card is the bottleneck.

I'm using addon sync already. I downloaded the Russian pack later than the rest of the mod but I also redownloaded the CBA and CBA ACE folders. I still get the error.

Should I just delete ACE and redownload the mod from scratch?

I installed OFP GOTY last year, set everything to Highest or whatever.
It brought my machine to it's knee's.
E840 2x, 8800gt, 3go ram.......

Try running the stress test's and see what you get.

Bought this recently, am I the only one who finds the AI to have ridiculous detection abilities? I was doing a scenario where I parachuted into an enemy base in the middle of the night, planted sachel charges on a bunch of tanks, sneaked out of there and then detonated them. I was on a hill about 300 metres away lying perfectly still while prone and I was spotted in the light of the explosion.

There's a few patrolling units on the mountains ;)

Does anyone know where I can find a list of all of the weapons, especially the ones in ACE so I can place them in a units loadout in the mission editor?

And what is the exact script/command again? I lost the text document I had it saved on...

Finally is there any way to bring up a loadout menu in the editor like you can in game when at an ammo box? I doubt they have such a feature, but it is sorely needed.

Ace is Ace, they got their own stuff which is documented, I believe.

Have fun.

I will have to try that again sometime.

Do you know how to use the interaction menu in ACE for satchels and other things?

Not surprisingly in ACE mods tradition of piss poor documentation, they forgot to tell you which key activates their special interaction menu:

http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Interaction_Menu

Last I checked I didn't have an "ACE Key" on my keyboard. Perhaps it is in the ACE Options menu, but if it is, I clearly can't read it as I don't have a microscope.

This makes it impossible to use the satchels...

Perhaps they should update "FAQ" with the following:

When near both enemy and friendly personnel or objects (items) you may attempt to interact with them. And how the hell do I do that? Write it out in English please. Once activated, a context-sensitive menu will pop up offering different actions like check the other person's gear, heal, or arrest them. Such actions require the consent of the other player via their normal action menu. If too far away you might instead signal the player to come closer. Clearly moving up close to the objects doesn't activate the menu. Standing on it, being prone over it, nothing. Write out the distance in English please.

The next step would be to get rid of that awful website and just write it out so we don't have to jump from page to page, open and close things ect.

I believe if you go into the ArmAII folder look for user-config you will find a Ace keys/config file which you can modify.

It's quite simple. First you need to change default username in ACE userconfig file OR you can run aceclippi tool and configure all ACE options there. You can find it in your ACE folder. Then you get ACE self and object integration menus.

If you are sure you have, you can access all explosives from your ACE menu. 1st you place satchel, C4, mine, tripmine or other explosive. Then you use object interactive menu to set satchel timer, trigger wire etc and set "safety off".

YouTube - How to Operate M18A1 'Apers' Antipersonnel Mine (Claymore) with Ace2

Here's example video how to use IED's

YouTube - How to use IEDs in ACE 1.9 RC3 for Arma OA

Atleast its simple but each explosive has a lot of options how do you want to detonate it.

For any PR:BF2 and/or ARMA2 fans, the latest update confirms a July release:

http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f380-project-reality-news/98008-update-pr-arma2-highlights-reel-5-a-4.html

As I find Coop pretty dull for the most part, I'm looking forward to seeing some robust PvP servers out there.

Sounds interesting, however I wish PR would be compatible with ACE, ACRE, OPSMON and Zeus addons. W/o these playing in ArmA 2 is quite flat and lacks emotions of battlefield.

Their mod incorporates similar effects which will become more elaborate with subsequent releases. Not exactly the same of course, but they're aiming for a single mod that'll make it easy to join a PR server without having to deal with the multiple addon hassles that exist now.

We'll see when it's released if it's all that is advertised.

I've been playing with ACE 1.10 recently, and i have to say fighting the AI is quite enjoyable now. They are doing some really impressive stuff if you consider it's an open world AI with no scripting going on to tell them what to do.

Last night i only placed a KCT Commando-group in the editor on the Fallujah map (large city-map with over 3000+ buildings, based on sat-images) and put myself as the squad leader, and all i did was add the SecOps-manager.
Well, it wasn't long before i was ordered a mission and later on a second, to perform a patrol through some checkpoints randomly generated within the city. From the first mission i had gained a reward, with which i was able to call in an Apache for fire support.
As i went on my merry way we entered a relatively open area with some buildings spread here and there. Ofcourse it wasn't long before enemy soldiers opened fire from about 5 o'clock.
I hurridly took cover, making their location my new 12 o'clock. Around me, my AI soldiers took cover on the wall, while those at the edges leaned around the corner and provided suppressive fire.
About a minute in the firefight, i still hadnt spotted the shooters which were hiding in some rubble which i later found out, as bullets cracked overhead.
And then the worst thing that could happen, happened: shots came from my new 6 o'clock, effectively sandwhiching me and my squad between two enemy patrols, leaving one side completely open and without cover.

I quickly turned around and fired in the new direction i had to face, supported by two soldiers, while the rest were still searching our 12.
Then i noticed a muzzleflash: the newly arrived enemy soldiers were using columns of buildings for cover, leaning around, firing, and sidestepping from cover to cover!
After me and my squad killed several, i decided to use the lull in the fight to move to new cover, and i ran over to another building and went on to sit on the roof, hoping it would give me a good view of the soldiers on my 12, while keeping out of sight of the soldiers on our 6. Ofcourse, that put me in full view of some enemy soldiers, and i got hit in the arms, messing up my aim considerably. Still managed to hit a soldier or two, but the situation was getting hopeless.

So, time to call in that Apache support!
After contacting HQ, i gave a location for the Apache to search and destroy. It took it's sweet time getting to me though, and all the while i was taking rounds from the front and the rear.
When it arrived it took a quick pass or two over the area (i guess it was determining friends from foes, or simply detecting foes :p) and as i grudgingly thought to myself "Bloody useless Apache!" it came around for a third flyby and what followed then was simply hell for the receiving side.
It opened up with it's boardcannon and insurgents were falling left and right, i even saw one of them take a dive through the air :D
After that succesfull strafe, it suddenly went quiet. Area cleared
Completing the patrol was easy after that.

The AI was continually impressing me during the fights i had to fight.
They took cover at corners to lean around them, used trees, traffic lights, individual slabs of concrete of a watertower, piles of garbage, building columns, carwrecks and all other kinds of crap for cover, and all but one of my squad managed to stay alive through at least a 15 minute firefight with fire coming in from two sides, and the enemy forces did at least as good a job. It certainly took me my sweet time to determine where they were firing from :p

While those are great addons/mods made by talented people that have brought a lot to the game, the reason not too many people like the Arma series is because of just that.

I can't tell you how many times my buddies are like lets play some Arma2/OA, then someone says we need to update ACE or some other mod, and then we are like screw it!

Don't get me wrong, I love PC gaming and the modding community. But having said that, Arma is one game that modding just seems to be overly complicated and labor intensive for something I only play maybe once every six months in CO-OP.

Hopefully our PR dev friends can deliver on their experience they want to give us.

It could help if you had someone who can make some halfway decent missions in the editor and just stick with default addons\content for the most part if you want some standard coop between halfway serious and completely nonsensical fun, but nevertheless I know what you mean.

Maybe I'm just being too unorthodoxic but as fun and great ACE, ACRE and such can be when playing some major coop missions with large amount of people they're not that necessary if you've experienced enough with the editor to avoid most of the obvious shortcomings of the engine itself and so on when it comes to some random coop missions w/ 2-4 human players total.

@SiC-Disaster nice reading :) However it's more enjoyable and challenging if you have humans as your teammates and Apache pilot can (as he is a human) make a mistake and attack friendlies! I had operation in Fallujah too in last Sunday. It was dark, about an hour before dawn, area was a urban zone. We had an apache as a support, but he couldn't open fire because we were right next to enemies, our leaders forgot to take UV strobes to light out our units to pilots, so it was ever trickier to recognize who is who. Fortunately our contact with pilots thru ACREs radio was superb and we successfully managed to win firefights, secure objectives and return to base by extraction in Chinook.

That's why best idea to play coop and/or pvp in ArmA 2 is to join one of the many communities. Each decent group has own dedicated server able to handle up to 50+ players on a map, repository server with all needed files to download, plus everything is organized and ready to roll :) Missions or whole campaigns are interesting, enjoyable and there you can feel ArmA 2 properly. ACE, ACRE and others are amazing mods if those are used properly.

And I'm not talking here about uberhardcore realism units because even I don't like such stuff. I like when games are challenging, fun and you learn something new all time. You can find community similar to your needs easily, there is dozens on the Bohemia's forum.

I'm in a realism unit already.
