I got 20 fps on the demo benchmark. I have to turn down everything real low and it looks bad and still doesn't run all that well.

Just had my first! crash. Was playing evo and spent 10 minutes sneaking up on a tunguska, got out my m136, raised the sights and the screen went black:(

What an anticlimax.

I never got into ArmA, but I heard great things about it, so I had high hopes for ArmA2. I have to say the boot camp in the demo was very confusing and frustrating. I wanted actual training, not little hint boxes to tell me what to do (barely).

Also, the voice work is terrible.

BUT HOSTILITY IS WHAT MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND.

actually steam is basically a drm programme itself.

I knew someone would say this.

Stuff like Securom installs crap on your computer that is good to no one other than the publishers.

Steam is what it is.

Take the hostility elsewhere.
Both is really bad, but I prefer hardcopy. Sooner or later this Securom version is hacked and/or a patch will remove it (see ArmA I).

If you still got that hardcopy and if you are willing to ship to Germany, I'd be interested:)

I got decent framerates (31 fps) on the demo benchmark, with most settings to medium (some to high) and 3000m view distance. It's not great but still looks better than ArmA due to prettier textures. But I concur what Reddog said: terrain on medium distance looks stale.

After playing a couple of days, I'm pretty frustrated with the campaign and stupid AI.

- Frequent savegame CTDs, have to go back to second to last ...
- What's with the moaning and grunts your team come with constantly, even when standing still. Sometimes its 'Ow that hurts' etc. Sounds like someone is firing at them, very confusing. Anyone know what this is?
- Even on Regular diff. AI accuracy and vision is godlike, even more than an RO bot ffs.

Spoiler!

The grunts and moans are when your one of your squad has been hit and is needing medical help. Your right about AI shad this is known problem and they can see through the grass and ground clutter which makes grass/clutter uesless to the players when facing AI, hopefully it will be fixed in a patch.

Always remember shad mate that BI take a while to get everything working in there games in the case of ArmA there still working on it and its been out for 2 years.

PS GG yesterday even if it was a bit hectic on the splat vent.

The animation wasn't clear.
It seemed to be aimed at his personal regions and then up and to the left.

If it was a trailer for a Film, I would probably go and see it.
If, on the other hand its a mod for ARMAII I will play it.

Ruleof3...

Ok, so it means they have been shot somewhere, but they are still showing up as green in status? Guess I could try using the corpsman to heal them but it seems its all 4 in the team making these noises all the time.

Yea, I had some fun but it was confusing :D

I'll probably still be up for some multiplayer, especially something organized and not against AI as it kinda breaks immersion when the AI is so silly. Seeing 5 guys lying in a cluster in the middle of a street waiting to be shot kinda ruined it for me lol. And an enemy M1 stuck between a shed and a brick wall for the entire game :p

Heres a quote from RPS that I find sums it up :D
There’s a definite sense that the AI is teetering on the brink of madness, especially when you see tanks flailing about in front of rabbits.
