Maybe because people want to learn about expensive marriages and generally the lives of others, just like it happens with so many Hollywood "stars", but being tradition and all it gives them an excuse so they can gossip all they want. Besides, Britain is full of useless magazines and biographical books about people who should have never been famous in the first place.


Edit: Oh and what Bluehawk said of course, but deep down I don't want to believe that people still think this way and see what is left of the aristocracy today as something more than profits from tourism.

I say meh to royalty.
I cant be bothered with them. If our queen dropped dead tomorrow i couldnt care less. Each time a royal child is born or something happens to the family the entire country is usually in an uproar. It's ****ing ridiculous.
They dont serve any purpose anymore, and are using upkeep payed by our taxes.
It happens to be Queen's Day here in Holland, and it's a big feast in a lot of places. I just stayed home and watched a movie. I refuse to drink to the queen. Screw them all.

Well, it's a historical thing, and Kate is a babe. :p Those are probably the biggest reasons why it's such a big thing.

But I agree with SiC that royalty is kind of an outdated and unnecessary concept in this day and age.

BTW SiC, I've been to that store a couple of times.

Broke up with my long distance gf from Turkey that I've met once in a year of "relationship". Apparentely me getting a job wasn't good enough for her, besides the fact I actually like this job which is very rare for me, even though it's temporary I might be given a permanent contract, she wanted me to go to university for no other reason than have higher education. It seems the only way to have a succesful life is to go to university and study something.

Well I'm not looking for a fancy university degree job anyway, I would rather have a low paying job I like doing than a high paying job that makes me think I can spend my time in better ways. 90% of all jobs are a waste of time for me so I'm trying to keep this current temp job and take my chances in making it permanent which is something she couldn't understand.

Louisiana is bassackwards anyway. When money is tight, what does the LA legislature do? Cut college and university budgets......:rolleyes: (and only because there is nothing left to gouge from the public primary and secondary school system). I propose that the legislature fire themselves and go home permanently. We'd all be better off....
