Room temperature beer. Bleh.

You know why the British drink their beer at room temperature, don't you? It has nothing to do with custom or tradition. It's because Lucas makes refrigerators too, not just Jaguar, MG and Land Rover electrical systems.

I don't drink ale at room temperature. And it doesn't come out of taps/pumps in pubs at room temperature either. That said, it's not ice cold so as to mask the fact it's lacking in any flavour either (lagers are).

I use the "could I drink it at room temperature" as a guide for whether or not I should drink it. Odd as that seems.

I can get most of them in bottles, but the heavier stuff is in kegs at a few posh pubs.

I prefer my Ale at cellar temperatures 45-55 degrees. I think that is what they mean when they say room temp.

I very rarely drink alcohol, so I don't have much to compare them to, but I know I like Captain, Absolut, Svedka, and Grey Goose. It's funny, I can solo big bottles of liquor but beer makes me sick even in tiny amounts. Must be allergic to something in there.

Don't worry, I can't stand whiskey myself. Couldn't stand beer until a year ago or so.

I don't mind the taste of beer but what I don't like about is that it makes me feel really 'full' or 'blown up' if you know what I mean. Don't know how to call that in English. But I don't drink much anyway.

IMO, you're only able to say a brand of beer tastes like piss after you've had a better brand.
