The 3 biggest issues of KF right now

I'll keep this short and simple. These have all been reported and discussed about before, i just want to know if you all agree with this list.

1. The max amount of specimens able to be spawned at one time needs a significant boost. There are many modded servers that prove everyday that this is entirely possible with minimal lag. Those servers, while not being perk enabled, are some of the most fun available. KF would be substantially better if this were boosted even by a small margin.

2. THE SERVER BROWSER. Every sorting type except for ping causes the server you select to deselect onto another one as the list gets bumped up because more servers are found. This makes it NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to click or join a server. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if it didn't take 10 minutes to find all 1000+ servers. It takes about 10 seconds to find that many in other games like garrys mod etc, why does it take so long with the ue 2.5 engine browser?
I would also complain that the filters are broken because of DA2 but that will be fixed eventually i know.

3. Glitchy or slowed walking aka walking on glue/bampfing. Nobody has been able to pinpoint the cause of this. It is definitely tickrate or netspeed related though. At any rate, it causes 50% of games to be unplayable and needs to be fixed.

I'd be able to forgive all of them if Sharpshooter wasn't a demi-god and if a CHAINSAW could take down a clot faster than a KNIFE.

I've never seen anyone bring these up.

That said, all of these are things that do need addressing. My server browser wont even apply filters any more making it even more of a pain!

I'd be able to forgive all of them if Sharpshooter wasn't a demi-god and if a CHAINSAW could take down a clot faster than a KNIFE.

you have a point but none of those problems would make me punch a hole in my monitor like the server browser does.

yes it's retarded that a lvl 6 SS with an xbow can 1 shot scrakes and fp's even on suicidal, and yes the chainsaw sucks and zerkers suck, but even so KF is still fun while we wait for them to fix that. When in doubt, play as medic. They're the superior perk :p

These problems however, are making KF a whole deal of not fun at times.

As for balance, I think raising the max amount of specimens would help with the OP classes. But the chainsaw can't go back to what it used to be (a door that killed zombies) at least not fully.

Also, how can you say they haven't found a replication for? the glitchy walking is a global problem, i highly doubt TWI has the only computers in the world that this doesn't happen to. the server browser and max specimen count are not something that need to be replicated as they are not bugs. they just need to be altered and fixed.

I don't suppose we could get a developer's opinion on the problem? It's not like we're asking for sneak peeks at any new content lol. I would breath much easier knowing that the server browser was going to be fixed at some point, even if it's 6 months from now.

The 32 limit right now is appropriate for normal honestly, but with each difficulty increase I do agree with you, it should increase.

32 for normal
40 for hard
48+ ? for suicidal

The only reason I believe this would help is because there should never be a time in a suicidal game when you are waiting for zeds. Normal and maybe even hard you can have pauses, but suicidal should just be a never ending torrent of madness.

I agree with you there. Suicidal should be just that: suicide. You are playing that difficulty expecting to be completely overwhelmed and have a very low percentage of success...only to win easily because you have 3 lvl 6 SS's one-shotting everything. :rolleyes:

Suicidal should be what the modded difficulty servers already are. Cept with perks enabled and with only 6 players not 32 so it's actually difficult lol

Balance is one of the smallest and most frivolous issues KF has.

People have this wild idea that there needs to be competition in a cooperative game.

The slow glitchy walking issue is definitely something worth crying about though. Definitely a big cause of headaches for me at least.

I agree with the browser, it is totally a mess, it shows you servers with N/A ping it doesn't respect at 100% the filters, when i choose normal there are always some beginner or hard servers there, and the most problematic thing is that u can't know if the server is short, medium or long that is the most annoying one.

No i didn't say that it suck it doesn't but it needs an update to fix some irregularities.

I don't know i start to think that this game needs a better engine but then again if gets a better engine it could kill the game i don't know.. i love the game how it is right know so.. i think an update could fix all these issues.

LOL I never thought of it that way, the knife actually DOES kill clots faster than the chainsaw O_O.

So yeah balance is the biggest issue atm, but they are working on it. The 3 above issues arent that important, but still Id like to see some more advanced filters and buttons for the server browser (stop refresh, mod filters, wave indicators..)

Turn on the filter in DA2 will enable it in Killing floor, and vice versa.

The KF server browser could really use some updates. How about filtering by map? Or only maps you currently have? How about seeing what round the game is on instead of having to estimate by player cash? How about more filter options, like a range for number of players (ie: # of players between 3-4), how about a server blacklist (add to never-ping) or a map blacklist, or filters by common settings (show only friendly fire, show only long waves).

It's crazy that modern server browsers are still worse than 13-year-old QuakeSpy.

I agree totally. Balance that favors the Zeds would be always welcome.

I guess its hard to develop a good serverbrowser. I see it happen in all MP-orientated games. KF brower is not the worst. Ever experienced the Battlefield 2 browser?

I must admit, the source engine server browser is something be envied.

I would love to have the ability to only show <150 ping servers in the KF browser.

And I also use the favorites menu for the most part, but I would like the ability to go explore other servers with minimal anxiety and waiting.
