Red Orchestra 2 has been delayed for two weeks. Some are frustrated, others know a good thing when they see it. On any gaming forum, you can find a thread complaining about a buggy games. Sometimes people blame the developers. Sometimes the publisher.

"It wasn't finished! What were they thinking releasing this?"

"Their stupid publisher bullied them into releasing too early."

It is understandable to hold some sorrow in your heart. I know I've been looking forward to RO2 as much as anyone else - but I almost get a euphoric sense of happiness reading about the delay. It just re-affirms what I've known all along. TWI care about their customers and anything less than an exceptional multi-player experience just isn't good enough. They are doing everything in their power to make sure the first time you load up Red Orchestra 2 you're going to be thinking "Man, this was totally worth it."

So I just wanted to say: thank you TWI. :D

Yeah I've HATED! game delays in the past, most usually extending months. But for some reason when I read this I felt like if they said they really needed to it was for the better. Esp with the comment that they get scored on release, I for one look at players reviews not the media but I'm sure a negative review dramatically hurts a release of a game. Maybe I wasn't upset cause I know I had early access to the game anyway. I know when the beta is launched I'm gonna be playing the game looking for bugs to help the devs. (ofcourse enjoying it at the same time )

This is true, simply getting your hands on a beta/game earlier isn't always a good thing. Splashdamage claimed that Brink was so "finished" that they could release the game EARLY..

Also the BF2142 beta lasted for several months and the game was so messed up they had to patch it the day before it came out. So lets all settle down and try to think about this a different way. True, it will be a couple more week till we get our grubby little hands on the game, but the game will be that much better for it.

Well its true we have to be happy just to have a company like TWI. We have to be thankful and not bite their hand, maybe...just MAYBE if the player base grows enough and enough people play their games other game company's will see not being friendly to the community and just wanting our money is not good for business.

I agree wholeheartedly. While the extra wait was a bit of disheartening news, I know that every extra day they spend on it will only make the game that much better, so its really not that big of a deal, especially over just two weeks.

Yeah, few things are worse for a game reputation then a very buggy release. Better to wait then release a junky product.

well put

cause in reality these 14 extra days aren't gonna make a difference in the long run...

but if they were to release an unfinished product and suffer from bad reviews - that would effect the game for an extremely long period of time

Reviewers usually dont go back and look at broken games after they're patched
once the review's there - it's there

I totally agree with the post above. This game needs good reviews to help spread the word, and I'm sure tripwire don't want it having a reputation in the wider gaming community of being buggy or unfinished. The bugs may be fixed, but the reviews stay there.
I think it's great they delayed it instead of releasing a game with bugs too. For a company the size of Tripwire, I think it would be a mistake to release a game with that many bugs. They don't have the millions and millions to spend on advertising that EA and Activision have, so they need to have a good product on release which speaks for itself. 14 days - That's really not long at all. Honestly, I find it hard to imagine how people enjoy the Red Orchestra style of gameplay if they are that impatient. The ranting and raving that's been on these forums is something I'd expect from the 12 year old CoD fans, not Red Orchestra fans. Sure it's disappointing, but **** happens!
Thanks Tripwire for being true to yourselves and caring about the quality of your game, and for keeping us all in the loop about what's going on.

I agree with all above.
Don't have to add anything because everything was said already, so I will just mention some IS2's...

I only hope that this 2 weeks will be enough to make that game smooth to play :)
