I agree too, a lot less **** that I thought.
I liked Olyphant, some of the scenes were really good looking, especially the scene when he meets the brother and his hoes. I enjoyed recognising bits from the game, the stuff in St Petersburg was a lot like the mission from Hitman 2, the bar from the dockyard in Hitman 1 was in there, and the entrance to the hotel looked just like one from the games too. I can't place which one.

They managed not to have a love interest, and kept 47s relationship with the whore distant enough to be credible.

Hmmm. Not quite good, not bad either. Worth a watch for some of the scenes.

meh, i watched the movie and it wasent bad, ive never played the games though so i dont really have that background.

what i dident like about it is the whole "the assasin kills people, but is really a good person, and hence is willing to take on unrealistic risks (any real assasin woulda blown the brains out of that prostitute)."

About equal imo, but if you're looking for the big screen experience I'd have to go with Beowulf as the visuals in that one are more big screen worthy.

Although Hitman has partial nudity, which, in it's own right, is big-screen-worthiness, but that's about it.

= Hitman unworthy, so go Beowulf.
some people might like seeing b00bies on t3h big screen. As my first sentence stats, Beowulf is probably the better choice, but I just thought I'd give out the full info and let him decide. If he wants to watch b00bies he can watch b00bies. If he doesn't care for b00bies, then he can watch Beowulf (although that sorta has animated b00bies, but that's something else entirely...b00bies).

Nothing wrong with boobs lol, but imo they dont belong in any stuff related to hitman.
47 cant deal with women, no-one taught him how, and as far as he's concerned they compromise his safety. Hell, in Contracts he shoots an innocent mailman who delivers him a letter, just to be sure.
Yet in the movie he tells his lifestory to some chick who has nothing to do with the entire hitman story-line from the games, and he wasnt raised by the damn church either, he's not fighting evil, it's not his targets of choice, just the targets he's given. He doesnt care who he kills.
They got all that wrong. They mainstreamed the stuff to get a bigger audience, and as a gamer who cares about gaming, not just Hitman, it's just plain wrong to go see it.
It couldve been Uwe Boll that made this movie, he would bring up the same **** only then no-one would go to see it, so actually for once he would be the better director for this. They both **** up, only Boll doesnt get the audience.

If they didnt say "raised by an exiled brotherhood of the church" in the trailer you'd never know about it. The only footage you see in the film when he's younger is of a facility and training. He gets his targets from a laptop just like the game, and they are freelance jobs.

The real background of Hitmans creator is never made entirely clear in the games. In 47 the only explanation is that your targets were in the foreign legion and they had links to an "experimental human" i.e #47.

It's a strange thing with films of games. The people who want to go and see it are the people who play the game, yet you mainstream certain elements to make it more acceptable. But the people who have never played the game have little interest in it anyway. Its like the Doom movie. Who the **** (apart from gamers) would want to see a film made of Doom? So why change it and make it extremely stupid?

That being said I thought Hitman wasn't awful. And was worth a watch for some of the scenes which are nicely presented.

If you enjoyed this movie, then you've obviously never played more than 1 game of the Hitman series. It was a complete and utter disaster, nothing else to it.

I've played all of the Hitman games and I don't think the film was a disaster. It had some terrible moments but overall it was nearly OK.
