Sorry peumobil, I know you always download the links as soon as they're up but I had to fix a quick bug and lower the file size even more so I uploaded a new version, this will be the final version for a while unless Tripwire give me feedback from the contest. Thanks!
Yeah there were explosions, it was wild, but awesome. It just caught me off guard is all because I've never seen something like that in RO2 before... I was like 'hmm what is that dropping from the plane?' and then yeah, boom. What does the bomb do exactly? Is it just there for effect or does it do something to the bridge?
Well it was cool to play it with nearly 32 people on the custom map server, although I've disabled shadows and lowered lightres on most items there are still performance issues for low end users. It also dragged on in the middle, but I did design it with 64 players in mind and at that point we had 10 v 10.
What I think I'm going to do is shorten the map and the ravine, this should help performance and the "map is too big" feel. Russian players will start off in underground bunkers either site of the bridge and walk straight up to the trenches
Great time. Glad you had an opportunity to look it over. I think the map is a beauty. The size doesn't intimidate me. But I have noticed that the Russians can have a heck of a time making initial progress because of sniping. Maybe folks aren't taking advantage of flanking opportunities?
I'm going to add more cover especially on the left side. Shell craters, rocks, more trenches. It should make it less of a chore trying to slog it up the hill towards the fuel depot.
- Shortened the map
- Aggressive on the cull distance
- Reduced water sensitivity
- Added more cover and added ruins to the city
- Added objective outlines on the map
