So if I understand this correctly, the Commander of the tank can just issue orders to fire at a target and the firing can be done by the bot in the tank without the need for the human player to do the actual aiming and shooting?

Please tell me that I am wrong on this but I'm pretty sure I saw a video in which Ramm-Jaeger said that.

I hope that it will be possible to disable the bots from firing server side if that's the case.

Random bot shooting results is REAL bad imo for realism and competition gaming.

I don't think you have to worry. They are very much in touch with the competitive gaming side of things, so I'm sure this has been brought up and dealt with one way or the other.

I would presume that there indeed is an option in the server settings to simply turn those AI companions off.

I think there's nothing wrong in bots shooting to stationary targets IF the player is the one who judges the distance (f.e. commander says "t34 800 meters and bot shoots as if the target is 800m away even if it's really at point blank distance). The real problem is with moving target, because I have to admit, that skill in that matter varies greatly from player to player.

Setting up the right distance to shoot is a thing that can be done easily as u stated by the commander, thing is you can shoot the turret, the tracks, the engine and many more hit points depending of what strategic choice u will make.

How could u order this to a bot standing in the gunner position ? I honestly don't think it can be done, at least not easily.

When you can shoot the engine, it means you can penetrate armor (usually side or rear) and that means you just can get a shot at either turret or just below it and (in most cases) destroy the tank. If you can't penetrate armor, then it's a good idea to shoot at tracks/try to hit the optics. So basically bots would have 2 modes: when armor can be penetrated, fire at crew compartment, preferably turret or just below it from the side (what's the point of shooting engine when you can just kill the tank for good?). When armor cannot be penetrated, fire at whatever is destructible, preferably optics (if they are visible/easy enought to hit).

So as I said, there's no problem with stationary targets, but with moving ones I'm not so sure bots will work all right. I don't want to be sniped each time despite going fullspeed in T70 at big distance (lots of people miss such shots).
