Was just thinking... it would be great to have tow cables on every tank (one tanks is used to pull another) and maybe a Famo (Sdkfz. 9) or 2 in the spawn... that way if the engine KOed, the tracks get damaged or u even get stuck in a ditch it can be recovered from the battle field (or at least out of the ditch) and to make this work... the vehicle would be "repaired" in the spawn... that way if there was a limited tank spawns (i think that should be impossed... to prevent reckless tanking) a damaged tank doesn't become a complete lose. i understand that a tanks tracks or engine can't be repaired in 30-45 sec or so (just an idea of repair times) but i think it would be cool to lose ur tracks and need to be taken off the BF for repairs... just like in real life (just slightly sped up)... i also know that as a tanker... the long walks back to spawn SUCK!!!

I like the general idea of being able to repair a tank. I'm not fond of how recklessly people operate ATM (ya know, "let's just die so we can respawn"). However, there should only be field repairs done by the tank crew (though you should be able to pull a tank to safety). I wouldn't think that there'd be a repair crew waiting nearby in most maps if it were to be realistic. Plus only the engine, tracks, views, and maybe a few other minor things should be able to be repaired. There's a thread on this somewhere.

Tank limits should definately be imposed.

Doesn't seem realistic to me in the context of a battle. I doubt tank towing was set up during an engagment very often. These things would be set up afterwards.

And do you really want to spend minutes getting a tow cable in place.

I'm even a little iffy about how quickly we re-arm tanks in ROO.

lots of recovery operations took place on the front lines... and often the Russians would see the movement and start blasting away... if the tank maps are made on large scales (there has been talk of that) it would be nice.. after the battle has moved onwards... to get ur tank working again... this would only work if tanks were limited (as they were in real life  )

but if u get stuck in a ditch... it would be nice to be able to get out of it and not have to blow ur tank up...

it wouldn't take minutes to set the cables up... hook on cable vehicle #1 and then run the vehicle #2 and attack the cable and u would be set... and doing it under fire just make is more exciting

basically it is the tank version of the infantries bandaging of his wounds
