I'm not sure that's going to happen, A. Because there's no such thing as Soviet Russia anymore, and B. Because the Russian federation probably has better things to direct their attention to than Dorset.

Oh yeah, and C. TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF.

Did you hear the whoooooosh sound when the joke flew right over your head? :D

Errrrm, yes, thank you. How does that reference help, exactly :) ?

I guess he was just pointing out that an exhibition without the IS2 THE GREATEST TANK OF WW2 is no exhibition.

He also provided evidence that better museums know how to treat the real KING of the battlefield.

so what you meant by asking for references and models is like the vehicle content that people have created to use in RO? like the after hourz vehicles, DH/MN/CC vehicles etc....?

if so, a quick search in the ROOST forums pulled up this wip for the M3 grant:

Waaaaaay too low poly for the applications here, I suspect.

When you plan on doing real time rendering of something, like in a game, then you want low pollies. When you are doing something in print, or for broadcast, or anything where you've got pre-rendered segments, basically, then you don't have to worry so much about your polygon budget, except insofar as you're limited by how much money you're willing to spend for render farm time, or for artists to make the thing for you.

That right there was about 5,000 polygons. Something like this, where you're looking for museum-quality duplication of something and not worried about render time or art budgets (since it's volunteer work after all) ... I'm expecting my tank to be in the neighborhood of a 1,500,000 polygons or so, so long as it's not intended for realtime rendering. Maybe 2 million, even. Tracks are complex.

Sd Kfz 171 Panzerkampfwagen V Ausf G
Tank Infantry Mark IV A22F, Churchill VII
Tank Cruiser Mark III A13
Tank Infantry Mark II A12, Matilda II
Sd Kfz 181 Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf E
Sd Kfz 121 Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf F
Sd Kfz 141/1 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf L

Panther Ausf.G - one of postwar-built tanks, special for brits.
Matilda III from Bovington looks very strange. He still have return rollers, but already have new hatches in front side of hull, late tracks and addtional fuel tank. This mix never been on the production vehicles - return rollers removed from summer 1941, additional fuel tank added already on the Matilda IV, november 1941.
Cruiser Tank Mk.III* also looks like experimental tank. I don't see any problems with that, Bovington - almost same than Kubinka :)

About tank models - do you have information about original paint of foreign tanks? As i know, right now lots of ex-DAK tanks, like Panzer IIF and command version of Panzer I, have grey-green camo, looks awful.

P.S. something in RL :)

Pass this on to the photographer for textures that are drastically improved compared with those created with a traditional photography skill set.

Its look too nice to read name of Tank, use in World War - 1 & World War - 2. I little bit surprised that in that era there are too many types of tanks use by warrior. Actually from so many days I am searching for it. List of weapon and tanks used in past world war. Thanks for providing me this precious information.
