Please install steering wheel lock and child safety belts.

Joking aside. It seems every time I open my tank for crew there's always someone who wants to reenact the ending of Thelma and Louise.
Well, not every time, but enough to have learnt not to open it.

Something like this would be neat:

Sadly I agree with you. Especially now that in RO2 you have a mostly decent AI that can drive the tank while you act as commander/gunner. Odds are that the human player will not cooperate or act as well as the AI, unless you can get together with a friend. Most of the time I will lock the tank.

It was a little different in ROOST, where you couldn't gun and drive at the same time. Then letting in even a marginal driver could be beneficial and I usually welcomed them.

I ALWAYS lock my tank if there is no a friend of mine playing in the server.
If I let some random to come in the tank with me it always ends up him driving right into the enemy terroritory while completely ignoring my warnings.

However, if you really want to have 2nd player to share the tank with you, then I suggest that the one who has the tank commander class could actually kick the other player out of the tank if he is doing poorly or griefing.

Oh, so much this. I never let anyone else in, I've never had success. No one ever asks nicely, they just jump in and start driving.

Good suggestion OP. I'd welcome more multi player tanks as I like to blow them up as AT. It makes my day to get 3 kills per tank.

Over here, no not there, here.

At the very least this because I feel something like this would take less dev time then OP. But that too if possible.

Why not just have an "Allow" list. Check the box for those who are okay to enter, if they desire.

The communication UI already has the interface for muting players. Adding it as an "allowed" crew member selection screen would be the most logical IMO.

1st, it would be nice if the tank selection wasn't FUBAR in campaign. Squad selection doesn't always work, and role never does if teams switch sides from "normal" map offense/defense. For example: Axis attacking Bridges, or ROF.
