The Problem
I've carefully read all the info on how tanks will work given by TW, and I think in it's current implementation it will be very unbalanced for team tankers, especially on maps with low tank numbers.
The way it works is there is one tank per tank class, so the number of tanks is limited by the number of classes available. So if there are 3 tank classes on one team they can have 3 tanks, or only 1 with a full crew.
That being said, it's entirely possible TW will scrap maps like Konigs in favor of arad type scenarios. I think this would be a huge mistake as CA maps with limited tanks play superbly on pubs and in clanwars. Imagine if a similiar map was made and axis had the option to field 3 tanks or 1. While one tank might be a little more effecient the fact is 3 could could shut down both sides of the map quit easily. This turns into a problem when 3 friends who are noobish decide to teamtank when the other team makes the better decision of fielding 3. It will turn into the most one sided game ever.
The Solution
Limit the number of tanks and tank classes. If someone unlocks there tank for someone else on the server, and they accept, it adds an additional tank class for that person only. The new tank crewman doesnt have the option of tanking thier own tank.
This is a good solution for many reasons;
+See above, the tanks per team will always be balanced to how the map maker intended. There will be no scenarion where its 3vs1 tanks.
+If you want to team tank with friends, only one of you has to get a tank class. No more scramble to get classes where someone can get left out.
Possible cons;
+A possible balance issue. I think it's much more balanced then the alternative though.
+People begging/spamming in chat to get invited into tanks since they are now much more limited.
