Manly thread time. Tell how you earned your scars and what you had to do to get them!

Got a vague scar on my wrist that I got when I was 7 or something and fell off my bike.

Got a huge scar on my back due to surgery because I had scoliosis, I have metal spikes bolted in my spine holding it straight.

I have some scars on my left hand, and a bit on my eyelid that I got while cycling fast with a bag on my steeringwheel with a binder in it which blocked my leg from going up making my wheel do a turn of 90

My right leg - bit of a mess from several stupid accidents in my younger years...

11 year old - someone threw a piece of slate at me, it hit my right knee, went behind the kneecap and pierced the synovial membrane. It needed an exploratory operation so the scar was enlarged a lot.

About 15, trod thru an old glass door, severing the achilles tendon on the right ankle. Such a clean cut I didn't realise until I had walked 20 yards - I just wondered why my foot was flopping about and my foot felt wet.

Also at that time - ran into a barbed wire fence whilst up to no good one night. Small but deep gouge in the right thigh which required several stitches.

ALSO about that time I sat on a concrete pillar which had some oldbarbed wire round it and made a 4-5 inch tear in my inner thigh stopping just short of me nuts

Numerous other scars on my hands from several dumb accidents, the most embarrassing of which was impaling my hand on a pencil so far that the point nearly came out the other side- just the skin stopped it.

All of these scars are so old that there is very little to see now but it is useful to have a reminder to stop me wishing I was a teenager again.

Nothing spectacular really...

A small scar under my left eye I got from face diving on a set of stairs when I was a wee little kid.

A scra on the back of my head, I gained from ducking beneath some window blinds and getting up to early, bumping my head quite heftily on the edge of it. Again, I was a wee little bit, just large enough to bump my head on blinds on the ground floor (1st, for you americans...)

And my third scar, by far the most spectacular: Not paying enough attention when cutting bread, I sliced my left index down to the bone with one sweep. Bleed like a bugger and my left index finger tip is still numb, 10 years later.
The most fun part was though that it happened at my then girlfriends home, and we left immediately for a doctor to stitch me back together. Just when we were out, her dad came back home and found the kitchen full of blood and a bloody knife on the floor, and his daughter nowhere to be seen.
I never ever saw a man that glad that it was only me that was hurt (even though I was on very good terms with him)

I got a bit of scar tissue square in the middle of my forehead from when I was a teenager and dumb.. (aka: lossing side of a rock fight). I can say I've honestly been blinded by my own blood from that one.. it's an interesting experience.
Knife scar on my left forearm from a friend trying to be slick and freak me out, but he used the sharp end instead
Pretty big/old one on my right inner thigh from a broken bicycle reflector that turned around a cut me pretty good.
Various small/minor ones on my hands from misc things like wood/metal working, yard work, pets, etc.

Nothing too major for myself.

Scar in my palm from walking around hand and knees on the floor and a rock punctured my hand. Surgery was done, but it had already dissolved in my blood.

Stabbed by a pencil on my right hand and there's always been a little red spot since.

Was at the Hunley burial in South Carolina (The Confederate submarine "Hunley" was just found at the time) and I was bored so I was stabbing my civil war bayonette into the ground. Missed and stabbed myself in the foot. Didn't hurt that much, but I was more worried about the boot, haha. That's the most interesting one.

Then there's those damned scars on the back of my heels from knicking on doors that shut. Damn those.

Oh yeah, also dropped a bowling ball on my middle finger in 2nd grade and had surgery. Bent out of shape (barely noticable) and has a little scar there.

The dangerous life of Landrik, haha.

Hit by a car whilst on my motorcycle, car driver moves out of a stationary line of traffic without checking his mirrors. I got about 500m down the road before I felt my leg was wet and pulled over to see that.

I only have one, on the bottom of my chin. I was seven years old, and I stupidly decided to walk on top of one of those half-circle jungle gym things. I ended up falling through a gap and hit my chin on one of the bars.

I haven't got pics but I have a few scars lol.

First ever is a big scar on my inner right thigh, I did it jumping a fence to retrieve a ball when I was 10. The fence had a wire tie pointing upwards, I literally missed tearing my balls open by an inch.

Second, my brother miss handled a .22lr whilst we were rabbit hunting with my dad, he had an accidental discharge into the ground about 2 meters from me. The projectile struck a stone and fragmented, I ended up with a piece of of it in my calf. It went in one side and skimmed around to the other stopping just under the skin, there was no major muscle damage I was very lucky. They did an ultrasound to find the fragment and remove it, I have it in a jar somewhere.

Last, I got in a fight at my year 12 formal, I hit the guy in the mouth and cut my fist open on his teeth. Lesson kids don't ever do that, the wound came very close to going septic. Having an open wound that needs regular syringe drainage and antiseptic irrigation is no fun at all.

Got 2 scars:
A small scar on my forehead which earned me the nickname of Harry Potter.
Cracked my skull on a concrete ledge at the age of 8.

And another small one on the back of my left hand.

Got a long but hardly visible scar left side of the lower abdomen, I had one ball lower than the other when I was little. Turned out some fluid leaked down into one of the balls

Also had a motorbike incident sheepdip. Not nearly as nasty as that though, just took a chunk of my left knee out. No damage to the bone, just a very big hole. Ugly saggy scar mainly because I was in Ibiza at the time and the sun does that to healing wounds.

Got another scar on the palm of my left hand. It's barely visible because it almost perfectly follows the horizontal crease line. Did by pushing my swiss army knife almost all the way through my hand by accident, dont go out on the piss then mess around with knives when you get home.

Knife shaped on my left palm from when some moron decided to stab my palm with a knife during a fight, messed up left knee from a cycling accident on a gravel road from when I was 10 or so, couple of cigarette burns from when I was drunk and stupid (and young) and a scarred left ankle from an open fracture when I was 17.

Glad it healed up.

It's an awful picture, quite used to looking at it now - and it's well healed. I'm still amazed at how little it hurt, just a shame it's a constant reminder of what can happen in an instant with a lapse of concentration.

A chunk? Ouch. Suppose it got tanned/burnt straight away and browned up.
I managed not to really lose any flesh though. Hope the bike was OK!

You talk about it as if it didn't hurt that much. Was it really that bad? ._. I sliced the end of my finger on a razor in the shower (as stated in the anything thread) and I couldn't stand it since I'm a massive pansy.
