If your gun has semi auto, you should almost always be using it.
Aim for the head.
Heal team mates before healing yourself. It's twice as effective.
Get used to the stress of being overrun, KF is mostly about prioritising targets, especially at close range.
Don't power level. Your perk level will progress as your skill progresses. Level 0s who have skill can hold their own even on Hell on Earth.
Try to get a small group of friends (~4) to play regularly so you become accustomed to eachother's playing style and can work more fluidly as a team.
Progress through the difficulties, don't jump around.
Aim for the head.
Once you're comfortable on Hard and can win ~2/3 times, you should consider moving on to Suicidal and learning the differences (scrake flinching mechanics, fleshpound headshot resistance)
In my opinion, being an ace sharpshooter will give you fundamental skills to use in all perks - accurate headshots in quick succession, target priority, timing reloads.

And don't underestimate the 9mm, especially on Hard and below. You can practically solo the entire game using the 9mm as sharpshooter if you wanted to.

Oh, and headshots matter. A lot.
Also, headshots.

EDIT: Get comfortable with common loadouts for each perk.
This is generally what I use:
Spoiler!

Some notes:
Scrakes will 'rage' after they lose a certain amount of health. Leave them to perks who can take them out cleanly.
You need to deal >= 666 damage to stun a scrake. When a zed is stunned, he will stand still and be vulnerable for several seconds.
Common methods to stun:
  • Lv 6 Sharpshooter with a Lever Action Rifle headshot
  • Lv 2+ Sharpshooter with a Crossbow headshot
  • Any perk with an M99 shot (head or body, doesn't matter, gun is OP as **** don't use it etc)
  • Any perk with an Axe/Claymore secondary fire headshot to the back of his head
  • Lv 5+ Berserker with an Axe/Claymore secondary fire headshot
  • Lv 6 Berserker with an Axe/Claymore swing to the back
  • Lv 6 Berserker with a Katana secondary fire to the back
  • Any perk with a fully charged Husk Cannon headshot

Flesh Pounds rage after you deal > 360 damage to them in a 2 second period
Flesh Pounds also rage if you're in their line-of-sight for 10-15 seconds (random timer)
There are several methods of dealing with them. The channels DarkFalz linked have multiple videos showing how to do this.

You can stun a husk with an off-perk Lever Action Rifle headshot. Very useful.

You can "scream cancel" a siren by dealing a small amount of damage to her right as she bobs her head down to scream.
If you deal too much damage in a small time period, or you shoot too late, she will scream anyway.
A 9mm shot is enough to scream cancel sirens, with any perk.

All the advice was good, but I want to stress this one. I still use the 9mm offperk on HoE. Two shots to the head will decap anything under a siren, and only one shot if you're a sharpshooter. If you really need it dead THEN, you can put a few more into the body to drop it. If you're trying to save ammo, it's awesome.
Slightly less necessary now the Mk23 is so cheap, but still good advice.

Thanks guys for all this advice gonna try it all and see what helps thanks.
Most of what good players do in KF is good habits in a lot of small things, which is very difficult to teach through text. Instead of reading through tips you ought watch videos by really good players (especially watch Scary_Ghost and Devante, the two best players in the game). Scary_Ghost's yt channel should have some good stuff to help get you started.

Your best bet however, is to find a skilled player to help walk you through the game and play a few rounds with you so you can learn by example. I'd help you, but unfortunately can't because tech limitations and reasons, though there are plenty of friendly people here who would be willing to lend a hand.
