A thing that i would really love to see in KF or maybe an idea for a mod. is an Arena styled invasion mode.
Instead of the stock maps it will use very large but simple symetric maps.
The idea of this mode is to drop the classes
and instead let the weapons be pickups. that will have a set spawn timer
maybe tweek the runspeed a bit
The monsters will appear in waves just like the vanilla game
but they will come with more at the same time. run faster. do less damage.
and are more stupid.
The monser damage. smartness and count increases with each wave and a new type will appear evry 3 waves. you get xp for killing specimen and after leveling you can pick a perk. like a health bonus. damage bonus. runspeed bonus. etc.
Some people might think it will lose its coop purpose
it will indeed be a bit less tactical but not brainless. after all its arcade
weapons will only spawn once in a certain time radius. same counts for ammo that will come in low numbers. there will be an ability to throw weapons, give ammo like the RO way. it will be viable to stay together as the difficulty increases. im not certain about the health system.
if it will use healthpacks or no way of healing at all. or maybe 1 syringe per wave.
evry player can die one time per wave. but if evryone is wiped out in he same wave. its game over. there will be no endwave. is all about breaking the high score with your fellow players. you will get extra points for headshots. dismemberment. multi kills. avoiding damage and so on
i also have a plan for powerups spawning at random places. and some 2 manned weapons like a heavy minigun that needs to be caried with 2 players. ( 1 shooting 1 holds the ammo )
this idea is comparable and influenced by top down arcade games like. Crimson land Alien/zombie shooter. UT2004 invasion, and Delta Invasion ( skulltag mod)
i think this would make up for a fun addition to the game. having the possibility to choose between the more tactical normal mode and the arcade mode. i think KF has potentional to deliver such thing it will fit with the weapons. and setting, i can imagine it being an addictive romp

i play delta invasion a lot as well and i can tell. its dead simple but its loads of fun. Throughout the week i dont have so much spare time anymore so i choose to play the more pickup and play type of games, when im gettin home from a way of hard work. i need to empty my mind. instead of filling it with complicated thinking that comes with RTS'es RPG's and such
i wonder what you guys think about this. feel free to add any feedback
i even have this idea crawling in the back of my head to do this myself and start a mod project. with some friends and maybe some dedicated people that lurk on these forums
