Tactics Support Specialist Loadout

I was just thinking to myself, most classes have specific loadouts, or a couple of loadouts at high difficulty. Firebugs almost always go flamethrower/MAC10, sharps go HC/Xbow / LAR/EBR, zerkers often go katana/axe/LAR etc etc.

Supports seem to vary a lot though, and I can think of about 5 viable loadouts. As well as every onperk weapon being a viable weapon to use (I still see a lot of players I'd class as pro using the CSG).

So yea. What is your loadout for support, and why? Also, what difficulties do you play on?

I normally go SG/AA12/M79.

I'm not good enough to axe/HSG a scrake at higher difficulty yet, so the AA gives me a nice bit of burst damage against FPs or scrakes and lets me kill them with a bit of help. SG is a great weapon against smaller/fewer zeds, and the quick reload time combined with ability to reload shell by shell means that I very rarely completely end up with it dry.
M79 I like, because it gives me some crowd control, as well as meaning that I never really run out of ammo. Very occassionally, I'll swap out the M79 for a medic gun, if we don't have a medic and are likely to take a pounding.

Axe / Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun

Sometimes I will replace the Axe with a Katana or the Shotgun with a Combat Shotgun. But this is my standard support loadout if I know I might have to deal with Scrakes by myself. With this loadout I can handle pretty much anything the game might throw at me. Even Fleshpounds aren't much of a problem.

Handcannon / Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun / Machete

This is the loadout I will use if I have a Sharpshooter with me and I am confident they will take out every Scrake. The Handcannon lets me pitch in against distant targets and the Machete is there just in case I have to fight off a Scrake by myself (It is possible to do the one-shot trick with the machete). Again, with this I can handle most anything the game might throw at me.

oh wow did not know the machete flinched offperk on hoe, good to know, i assume it has to be a headshot? i know you can flinchlock them on hard with primary fire as zerk, but never tried it on harder difficulties.

my preferred support loadout is the age old shotgun/coachgun/katana or axe. i will also occasionally use the CSG, but mostly stick to the pump.

i have seen others switch out the pump for a handcannon and m79, which seems like a perfectly viable option for crowd control afar awhile retaining the ability to take on scrakes and fleshies easily. support has ton of room to fit pretty much whatever crazy weapon combinations you can think of, and if you are proficient with those weapons, you can most likely make any loadout work for you.

AA12/HSG/Dual MK23 - that is my favourite loadout. Once I run out of ammo in HSG I use AA12 and then if I don't have ammo in both shotties (and it happens on HoE at waves 8+ quite often) I use Dual MK23. I for some reason don't have problems with headshoting with duals, I am even thinking about practicing dual 9mms for lols.

I have heard that every bullet fired from the left weapon of dual 9mm/handcannon is off a little, which makes them almost impossible to headshot with reliably. However I noticed the same thing as you with dual 44s- strangely reliable headshots.

(dont play duals, hate them).
You should learn to play with them. For some reason I dont even use the aim button, I just shoot and headshots go on and on :)

The one on the right also is off a little, you just have to learn which hits where and quickly aim from shot to shot. But yeah, weird thing enough is I mostly miss every 4th shot and that's mostly from left one.
