Anyone know if RO2:HOS will support the 360 controller without using some third party software to map the keys? My young son wants to be able to play against bots offline without the awkward KB+M controls.

Thanks...

Is a game with exploding limbs, swearing german and blood everywhere really something a young person should be playing?

I made the mistake once questioning a friend who let his 10 year play CoD. To wit he replied since his son goes hunting with him at weekends and his son skins and guts his own kills my chum didn't have a real problem with the boy playing CoD now and then. I guess the moral of this story is never assume.

i think it will support 360 controller if not im sure someone can mod it in. in UDK if you have a controller connected it defaults to that.

awkward KB+M controls

You're doing it wrong! :IS2:

Whilst you may be able to "bind" controls to a gamepad, I doubt it'd work very well without the assistance of X-padder or some such utility for mooooovement & aiming using the thumbsticks.

I also doubt it'd be much fun, but each to their own...

Uhh, yeah.... Its a video game

Are you insinuating that "video games" are only for kids? Because you might be doing it wrong too...the average age of the players & posters in this forum is 25+

I'm not sure your son will like this game, even if it does support the 360 controller.

This game wont support controllers, simply because there are not enough buttons for control. How would you change the barrels of a machinegun, go to prone or crouch position and back, lean left and right, attach the bayonett, melee, shoot, reload, sprint, look through the iron sights, change weapons....

Just not feasable. Why dont you just learn how to use KB+M. Do you fear not being able to play FPS on the Xbox360 after seeing that KB+M is superior?

+1 on the troll pic

But just in case...

I have nothing against 10 year olds playing a videogame as long as parents know their kids are smart and can tell the difference between a videogame and reality.

I seen 10 year olds play war games and the parents who raised them have some smart obedient kids... I also read news articles about some messed up kids so it's all about parenting.

I have to add that in RO, you need greater patience and you DIE a lot... Can be frustrating, specially for younger kids as patience gets developed over time and experience.

For limbs and so on... Meh... these days, most kids are desensitized... I prefer open minded desensitized kids who know fiction from reality, who know how bad reality can be... Again, all on parenting.

As for the topic, there is nothing better then a keyboard and mouse.
If the kid is mature enough and capable of playing a shooter on a console, let him learn keyboard and mouse...

You can't have a PC Shooter designed strictly for PC on a gamepad... even if possible, it just wont work correctly.

Ok, guess I will have to wait and see. Probably just let him try my copy before I get him one.

In regards to the violence level, I guess I was hoping that the blood and gore could be turned off. He plays Gears of War 2 with the blood and gore off.
