can you please add a "Tutorials" sub-forum to the level design area of the Killing Floor Forums.

This would help new comers and veterans alike, i want to make a tutorial on all the different uses that you can do with pathnodes.

I'm sure that a few of the regulars would also like to make their own tutorials and i know that arramus has with particle emitters (http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=33278&highlight=time+emitter)

The TWI forums are awesome since you can have photos / videos right there in the forum and even include links to map downloads showing how to do the things show in the tutorial and also include things like special blockers / emitters that mappers can just copy and paste into their own maps

I don't want to nag about this and i'm sure that its probably just been forgotten with the new update that you've been working on, but i'm sure that having a Tutorials sub-section will benefit the community greatly.

If anyone else thinks its a great idea or have tutorials they themselves would be interested in making say so here

tbh a wiki would benefit the community more than a tutorial section, tutorial sections on forums tend to become cluttered, while a wiki can be nice and organized.

i'd gladly contribute if TWI or someone else creates a permanent wiki.

done:
http://www.kf-wiki.com/wiki/Category:Mapping

start adding pages people.
Don't forget to add [[Category:Mapping]] to the bottom of the page and the corresponding difficulty they have (i.e. Basic, Intermediate or Advanced)

so f.e. if the tutorial is written for people with no or hardly any understanding of Unreal Editor 3.0 this should be in the tutorial you've written:
[[Category:Mapping]]
[[Category:Basic Tutorials]]

So that way you've got an index page of all mapping tutorials in the mapping category, but for people who want to start learning they can go trough the sub categories.

edit, wrote a small introduction to UEd 3.0 tutorial

Saw your intro page for ued 3 and its a really good tutorial, probably the best i've seen for beginners.

Someone needs to sort out that main page or make a contents page for easier navigation.

heh, thanks, just finished writing up the basic lighting tutorial.
I'm not sure if i can alter the main page, I'll leave it as is, but it looks like it's protected to some degree.

Also if anyone wants to contribute, to create a page write "http://www.kf-wiki.com/wiki/Your_Tutorial" in the address page of your browser (adjust the "Your_Tutorial" to your tutorial its name) and press the create tab and then start adding. (you'll need to add atleast [[Category:Mapping]] in the footer otherwise nobody will see it).

3 am here, quite tired, so i'm off to bed ^^

Added 2 new tutorials, one basic and one i classify as intermediate.
basic: importing static meshes,
intermediate: making multi layered static mesh skins (in 3dsmax).

wow i got to admit that some awesome stuff, Hell even i'm using it and i've been mapping for 4 months already lol

3dsmax looks very easy to use. i've had a go at maya but it drives me nuts when you try to edit something and most of the model disappears as if it's only able to display a small portion of it at a time.

I'll add some tutorials at some point but it's not easy to find the mapping area from the main page, a bit gay that.

Max is pretty easy to use once you get used to it, but i had my fair share of bumps in the road with it as well.

And i'll bring it up with Takau about editing the front page, he's the administrator for the wiki currently.
