May be playing a little too much GTA Online, but this might be a cool idea for a DLC.
Instead of just flopping up on a beach to munch some unsuspecting humans, make it a challenge mode style of event. Not only do you need to snatch whatever poor soul wandered down to the wrong beach, but on the way to the shore, you need to pass your way through some left-over WWII era land mines, maybe work your way around some heavy boating traffic, or some fisherman trying to pull in a big catch.
Or, pulling from the not-so-amazingly-executed Jaws III concept: You start out a mission coming out of a tranquilizer-induced slumber to find yourself in a Tank, crowds of people gawking at you open-mouthed, taking pictures and staring in amazement. Your human captors, in a foolish attempt to exploit nature, trot you out into a pool to perform tricks (like they do with Sea World killer-whales), opening up a potential avenue of escape (or a free audience buffet!). You manage to jump from the performance tank to an open-water area (like in the Jaws III Movie), where you can either escape to open water, dodging feeble attempts from the Zoo Staff to keep you in captivity. Along the way, stop and free other animals in captivity (save your aquatic bretheren!) or sadistically enjoy them as a free meal - freeing them nets you a bonus, eating them gives you health or bonuses.
Kinda far fetched, but might work as a scenario-type mission. Could be a cool DLC.
