I find the hunting shotgun ideal for it:

Can take a little while to get the hang of but when you do it can save a lot of ammo and time.

seems quite viable, but how effective is it when the HP is scaled to 6 players?

edit: NVM saw the second clip was with 6 players, good find, i had been trying parry and HSG to the face, but didn't have much luck, this seems to be the best method thus far

I pulled up the testmap and found the following (not my original idea, mind you) to be an easy way for any perk to solo kill a Scrake:

1) Stand still where you want to fight - make sure you have a little space on all sides
2) When the Scrake initiates his melee attack sidestep it
3) Shove the Scrake and begin circle strafing, which you will do for the duration of the fight
4) Alternate shooting the Scrake for a little and shoving him. Any time you swap weapons or reload immediately shove afterwords.

I tried this briefly today in a real match and was having some limited success in a team setting. It seems to keep Scrakes confused for a little while but they sometimes break out. I noticed in solo testing that if you don't circle strafe they don't stay confused. My assumption is that in team games if the Scrake picks an ally as the target he won't be confused unless that ally is also circle strafing. Regardless, it buys your team a few seconds minimum where the Scrake is safely occupied while they blast away.

What surprised me was that this can be done even if the Scrake is raged. The initial attack is harder to dodge but once you land the shove and start your circle strafing the Scrake is effectively locked down. Logically it would follow that when Scrakes stack up at the end of waves you could intentionally rage one to create separation then lockdown the raged Scrake.
