Who'ever gets in the tank first should be able to lock it IMO. Nothing more frustating than getting someone aboard with his mind set on ruining it for you.

Team tankers will still be able to do their thing, cause they can simply choose who they want onboard.

Ensures good & interesting gameplay if you ask me.

I am afraid that tank class should be like sniper, no one have big chance to get it. You are not friend? Than get away, you are not welcome here, so this is how it end?

one solution: voice command=stop or alternatively=i have target. therefore driver can comply. otherwise, the tank gunner doesn't have access to break, sorry.

yes in war if you saying stop to driver, he must stop, if not you must be able to stop him in game right now. You dont have time to lock tank and other things, if enemy is shooting you near important cap zone.

Sorry but this is the worst idea ever. Sure sometimes you have idiots as drivers, but when you have a good driver he an save you from enemies you didn't even see. Forcing him top stop when he is trying to save you would suck, not only for you because your dead, but even more for the driver. He 'failed' at his task because of the gunner.

A bit OT, but one thing I dont fully understand: if team tanking are two tank commanders (I guess there are only cmdrs from the Igromir video) merged in one tank or can a tank cmdr "invite" anyone into their tank? Imho second would be better, as otherwise your friend also has to catch tank crew and as teaming would then not hurt the team (by losing one tank).

ok first off has anyone thought of the greifing that could go on there needs to be a tank kick system all tankers in tank can vote whether he is a worthy tanker. yea this can lead to clans kicking people out but servers can just ban them or warn the whole clan. also this is pretty rare in general.

also i think that instead of gunners that sould be able to stop the tank i think commanders should be able to pull on the breaks. they are the commanders you'd think they'd be able to put on the brakes if somthing really bad is about to happen or someones ignoring orders. not the gunner the gunner can't always know whats best i mean really he can't esspecially in the new tanking system where the gunner can't poke his head out the top.

Just out of curiousity, how does the tank gunner aka commander communicate orders to the driver in RO2? I hope, for simplicitys sake its not via voice commands i.e "V" button then a number. What I would like is, as the gunner now controls the gun with the mouse if, by using the w-a-s-d keys he could for example, press the W key to indicate to the driver to go forwards which would appear on the HUD of the driver as a little arrow with a tank next to it, additionally there would a voice of "Forvartz" just to clarify things. So, as another example, the gunner presses the D key indicating to the driver to turn right which appears both on the drivers HUD and as a sound from the commander as "Turn Right!"

Furthermore no HUD indications for the Driver in Realism mode, relaxed realism will enable HUD indicators.

Does this sound feasable?

As i remember TW said that mouse 2 aim movement controls to make direction commands, i hope the V menu stays. atm the infantry commanding overlay is very chunky

That sounds like what Ramm mentioned, and seemed to be demonstrated in the video.

I'm also hoping you can point to a spot on the map, like the squad leader does in infantry, and have that set as a waypoint. That way, the driver can continue to drive, while you can focus on targets.
