No. Do you see what you could be doing with all that money instead? Pipespam is the bestspam.

I meant the money.

Instead of using it for something useful such as stocking, you'd waste it on pipes.

I guess everyone is familiar with those hardworking players who like to collect shiny stuff especially guns, and put them in one shadowy corner. I never really understood why is the system allows this? I mean if you and your team properly use those guns you don't need an extra one. Stockpiling supports spamming instead of precise well placed shoots. Stockpilling also means you waste extra dosh that you could give to that poor demo. The only positive thing I could imagine if your whole team messes up and you gotta solo a wave then you will need the extra weapons most likely. So my suggestion is to simply make all weapons that are on the floor disappear when a new wave starts. I can't see any downside to it, but if you do do share.

TL;DR Make weapons disappear from the floor at the start of each wave

I support the stockpiling of weapons as long as you bought them.

I play with a group of people who purposely suicide multiple times as a sharpshooter between every wave so they can sell the crossbows for extra cash. This feels like an exploit to me.

I'd be down for getting rid of the last part, but if you buy the weapons I think that is fine.

The selling crossbows exploit could presumably be fixed pretty easily by making weapons dropped during trader time disappear (or simply disabling grenade throwing during trader time would probably be simpler).

But buying weapons legitimately and stockpiling them I don't have an issue with, in fact aside from the odd firebug I rarely see people do it to be honest (I guess that's partkly because I play on public servers where oblivious late joiners always pick them up and sell them).

Not to rain on your parade but I'd just like to point out that this doesn't account for fall damage, friendly fire, the "suicide" command, walking into fire, something like the "carwash" on that garage map... etc. You'd need A LOT of effort to actually prevent people from killing themselves.

In addition, you don't need to "drop" a weapon to spawnsell. On a map like biotics lab, you can easily already be waiting at the trader, sell your weapon as soon as the trader opens, run back to spawn, drop your cash, suicide, pick up your cash, then run back to the trader and go about your business. There's always at least 1 trader per map where you can do this without needing to drop any weapons (for example the church trader on london).

There are many reasons a player would do this.

1. A new player could join and not have enough time to make it to the trader. If this happens, then he could use one of these weapons.

2. Members of the squad could die, rage quit/quit/loose connection, meaning the remainder of the team might need more ammo.

3. The Medic could use one of them if needed.

4. The team could get killed, leaving one or two to attempt to solo.

Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

I don't think it is cheating or an exploit, but it isn't really needed. If someone wants to, that is fine. I have 1300 hours in this game, and I rarely bought a spare. Usually when I did, I didn't need it anyways. Even if your main weapon runs dry, you still have a 9mm. Though not the best weapon, you can kill a lot of enemies with 15 mags, even on HoE unperked. Clots, stalkers, and crawlers can be killed with a secondary knife hit.

I never did the spawn suicide thing either.

I find that when i have stockpiled that i don't use it.

I use AK/SCAR as commando and when my AK runs dry, i switch to SCAR and use that.

You really never run dry completely when you play right/efficiently.

Stockpiling, if not combined with suicide-exploiting, is great.

I stock pile only what I can carry. not just leave it lying around for someone to use then quit the server randomly.

so no, this shouldn't be used at all, besides there is a muty for this out already.

Call me a scrub, but what is the advantage of stockpiling? It surely doesn't last more than a wave, the weapons would disappear at the start of the next one. Is it to have access to more ammo than you can carry?

As for the cheating bit, this seems like a conflict of terminology. If it's part of the game and intended by developers, then it's completely legit. If it's part of the game but not intended by devs, it's an exploit. If it's not part of the game (modified code, etc), and not part of a mod or mutator, then it's cheating.

Its for the extra ammo. For instance if you are support and you buy an aa12, drop it, and buy another, you can use one, exhaust the ammo, and pick up the other and have it with full ammo to continue your zed killing.

If I recall correctly, weapons used to stay around for a while a few patches ago. So you could essentially buy limitless guns and just set them in a camp spot and never leave for ammo. It was useful doing long games (Faked player solos) with this trick but I don't think the guns stay around anymore. I haven't seen stockpiling in quite a while.

There isn't. Last year or so for an update, the devs removed any spare weapons on the deck. Problem solved.

It was never a "problem" beyond being a memory issue. Unfortunately that made it significant.

Actually guys there was. Everyone was stock piling so many guns that no one had ran out of ammo. Imagen a demo or sharpshooter with unlimited ammo on a tier 3 weapon. It was severely boring and made the game so much easier.

I see you you didn't read any previous posts of mine or noticed the dates. I was always against stockpiling and considered it cheating. Someone necroed this thread from well over two years ago when stockpiling was possible.

yeah now that you mention it, I do remember you was agreeing with my idea. I don't see why I should go back and read it all to double check your opinion cause of the necro. My bad.
