Well, check the "New releases" tab in the store page, Steam now has F2P games!

Looks like it has COOP, so that actually could be quite interesting. This looks like a CSS clone:

Maybe I'll give it a try, or maybe I'll reinstall CSS.

Wierd, works fine in sweden. Anyway, it's "Alliance of Valiant Arms".
How is Champions? Lotsa grind?
Ah, then i'm not missing on anything. I tried it a year ago already, and after a day or two the only thing that kept me playing was grinding enough money to get my hands on the SAKO Rk.95(pretty much the only game which features this weapon).
Going off topic real quick. STALKER and ArmA 2 mods feature this rifle. ArmA 2 has an entire Finnish Defense Forces mod as well.
But how exactly was the game bad? Just an uninspired CS clone? I'll probably end up skipping it to. While not newly released, America's Army 3 is a rather decent free FPS game. It works much better now, but still has some lag issues. Overall I enjoy the game and play it every now and then. The pace is slower than your typical FPS game and is more tactical. I was going to download the game above but AA3 was updating. Some new maps and bug fixes. I think I'll end up sticking with AA3 as my free FPS game.
