Steam/Linux RO Sound issue

I've been having a bit of an audio issue. It's hard to really describe, but it almost sounds like an echo as well as a stretch (like a sound takes longer to play than it should). I'm playing on Linux via Steam and the issue doesn't occur in Killing Floor.

My system info, as supplied by Steam is located at https://gist.github.com/MrSchism/91125c92d73b20b44cf8.

My audio is, of course, OpenAL. I've tried setting my Steam audio to both Pulse and Alsa to no avail.

Any suggestions? I'd like to play without the audio making me feel like I'm tripping out a bit.

Does your log show anything of interest?

I actually figured out a solution/work-around when looking up a similar issue with skype. Apparently, it was related to a pulse issue.

http://askubuntu.com/questions/157891/skype-and-vlc-sounds-sizzle-distorted-bad contains the issue and solution. I haven't checked to see if it screwed my Killing Floor audio, but I doubt it did.

Seems I found a fix.

By editing my /etc/pulse/default.pa and changing

load-module module-udev-detect

to

load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0

Then restarting pulse, I was able to get it working fine. I found this while looking for a solution to the same issue with Skype.
