Stats not saving is not that simple (A detailed first-hand account)

Hey there,

First off, this is not me complaining, just clarifying a problem many of us are having. Since TWI wasn't able to re-create the stats problem yet, here are my observations. I'm sure it will be fixed at some point, and although I would prefer sooner than later, I can wait. Please add your personal experiences and include as many details as possible! The more we include the sooner TWI may re-create this bug and fix it.

Unfortunately, the longer it takes to fix this the more it may polarize certain player groups (not picking sides here). Some believe nobody should care about stats, and insist no one else should care about stats. Other want stats fixed and reset for everyone. Others do not want to see stats reset. The longer this goes on, some people will level properly while some can't, furthering this divide.

I am one of the many having trouble with stats saving. I just wanted to lay a few theories to rest:

* It is NOT a matter of just waiting for a round to end. I have seen stats save when leaving in the middle of the round. I have also observed stats not saving after waiting for a round to end (even waiting for the new map to load). While I don't deny that it is possible that waiting for a round to end may increase your chance of stats recording, and may very well fix the problem for some people, I can say from my experience that it wouldn't fix everything.

* It is also not a matter of playing on unofficial servers that aren't registered to be "ranked" yet. I have had stats record from unofficial and official servers AND have had stats erased on official and unofficial servers. Once again, it is possible that stats are more likely to record from an official TWI server and fix the problem for some, but I promise that isn't the entire story here.

* It is not a problem where it will completely work for one match or not work completely for another match. I have seen all stats recorded, no stats recorded, and everything in between. However, the stats that are temporarily recorded during a match always appear to be accurate. For example, during a match it will tell you if you have leveled up or leveled up a weapon. These stats are accurate based on what I checked immediately before a match. However, upon leaving the match (either in the middle or after completion), a random portion of the stats will be updated permanently.

* Although I haven't personally witnessed this, others are reporting extra stats appearing in their profile, in which weapons they haven't used have been leveled or extra kills recorded. I WISH this was my problem

I agree with everything, i'll write a few of my own observations.

* I have actually seen my kill ratio go down as i killed people in-game. (I.E I started with 84 kills, i kill 6 people.. i check my stats... my kills are at 78 kills)

* All stats are randomly jumping up and down, sometimes iam honor level 3, then 10, then 5 etc..

* I have seen that weapon level has been saved, after the round finished and map change i exit to my profile and see the weapon levelled up but when i start my game later the level has been reset.

* I have kills on weapons i never used and i have 0 kills on weapons that i did use.

Other then that, theres alot of random stuff which i can't explain at all.. Hope this helps

Good post.

I have only played on one server. It is supposed to be ranked. But when I check the server info it says; Ranked = No.

All the servers in my "ranked" server list says the same.

Anyway. Some of my stats seems to be recording. Like kills & deaths, wins & losses and weapon kills. But I'm not sure, because my stats could be someones elses stats. I have alot of kills with the SVT, and I haven't used that rifle much.

I seem to get get alot of honor though, my honor is level 22 atm. But XP, almost zero. I'm rank 1 in all except rifleman and assault. I play squad leader the most, but I have zero xp in that one. Kinda odd, because I haven't played assault that much.

I just want to say I'm totally ok with a stat wipe, because I'd rather start over from scratch knowing where every point was earned than start half-way with stats I'm not sure I earned or not.

Secondly, TWI needs to do away with the random stats filling out the stats page. It's just further confusing everything on the off chance on of those values does't read something absurd. (My friend had 10,000% accuracy with the Kar-98, which he hasn't used for more than a few minutes.)

THIS THREAD NEEDS A STICKY ASAP!

Complete stat wipe (if you can get things working correctly) or scrap of the entire stat-tracking system are probably needed. TWI, the sooner you do either the better things will be.

I agree with much of the first two posts, though as yet I have not seen any extra weapon stats added to my profile. However, my supposed number of kills is far higher than I believe it should be, while I honestly think my deaths is much lower than it realistically is. So far, I think (I am not sure as I have not been able to check every time I have left a game) I have only come across 2 European servers where stats have saved. I should add that I haven't played on any TWI servers but my filters is set to 'ranked' servers only.

STICKY!

Please process ranked server applications TWI and fix the browser.. if server is not ranked (really really) make it show in the unranked browser

Same. The servers do show the icon that indicated they are ranked, and they are filtered as being ranked but in the settings info for each server it's shown as "Is ranked = No".

Achievements also seem to be pretty broken. I have a few achievements I shouldn't have and there are also a few I should have that I do not.

Me!

Playing mostly on Old Gits, 90% of the time as Russians and today ive got "gifted" lvl 22 kar98, lv 10 MP-40 and a Frontline Soldier - assault thingy.
Also note that after whoring Russians my Mosin is lv9 and PPSH is barely 6 or something, no way EVAAR i'd have mp40 lvl 10, not even if somehow my beta stats traveled thru time and space to get here.

@TWI: Are you gonna fix the ranked vs unranked filters in the server browser in the next patch? currently all servs display as ranked which only adds (allot more) to the confusion.

Soon enough the mods will come in and the whole ranking system will go away, a community like Red Orchestra was never going to put up with having to rely on TWI so much.

On a serious note, while I haven't seen anything like this so far (not even Old Gits, where I played a couple of games today), fingers crossed TWI can find the problem soon.

I noticed this too - I completed one or two Axis campaign maps, and got the "complete the whole campaign" for the current skill, and the one below. When playing tonight, I got the "campaign completed!" screen flash up quickly, just before the second tutorial mission (sqaud command) was started, i.e. still pretty close to the beginning of that campaign.

It takes about a day for my stats to "catch up." Between day 1 and yesterday, it added about 100 kills and deaths to my profile.

Im hoping that a few screenies from my pc may help TWI since they cannot re-create this bug in-house. I took several screenshots from my player profile to illustrate our problems.... or at least mine.

The first is from Overview. It shows that I have 0 assist and 0 headshots but shows that I have destroyed 6 tanks. This entire page is wrong as I have probly killed and died at least 3 times what is shown. I have never destroyed a tank, I run from them.

I play the MG-34 exclusively and havent used any other weapons except the Kar-98 very briefly when the lmg's are not available. This screenshot shows several bugs including rifle loadouts for veteran machinegunners.

And lastly this screen shows weapon xp. As I said I use the LMG's exclusively and this page shows a kill count of 22 wich contradicts the overview page wich is also incorrect. However.... My MG-34 model in game is starting to look a little beat-up and it does reflect it as well used on this page.

Sorry if this slows down the page guys I just want to help get it fixed. I love this game so far but I like stats. I have never played cod and im not whining for a fix I just want to help get it sorted out.

EDIT: I should add that I have about 15 hours logged playing the "official" TWI Dallas server wich is supposed to be a ranked server. I am no tech wizard so Im not sure what is important but my OS is 64bit vista.

Just been on for the last hour and it seems to have started to track me, at least my kill/death score was correct. But had two tank kills registered, but im sure thats not right.
