My guess is it will probably about a Russian soldier falling in love with a girl trapped in the city. A German officer kidnaps her, culminating in a epic John Woo style fight between the German Officer and the Russian soldier.

Or, better yet! Maybe it's about a Russian soldier who falls in love with a German soldier! Brokeback Mountain 1942!

Herm, I found Brest Fortress to be okay. Sure, the yard melee scene where they club a couple of squads of armed Germs with chairs and various assorted blunt objects is a bit wonky but in general I found it to be a pretty cool film.

3D and a love story?

I guess I'll have to wait for the 80th anniversary to see a movie that can touch the '93 Stalingrad.

Pretty sad.

I'm going to watch the movie tough and I hope I'm wrong.

This particular issue seems to be a tell-tale sign of all bad modern war movies, not just the Russian ones.

Set pics look promising. I thought Enemy at the Gates was good movie despite corny love story. For a truly brutal Eastern front movie you must check out 'Come and See'.

They lost me at 3D. The love story angle was just the nail in the coffin.
