In the next patch, would it be possible to allow the "sprint" action to override any command in progress? I dont know about many of you, but I often find myself getting in trouble while reloading, attaching a bayonet, using I.S., etc.

Even though I try not to do these things in the open, the enemy seems to have a tendency to find me when I'm doing them. When this does happen, I dont want to continue to put all 5 of my bullets into my rifle, I want to run away! However, you cant in game. Instead you have to dance around and finish the animation while the enemy does what he pleases to you.

Any other thoughts/suggestions on this?

Keep up the great work with this game. I think this is my new favorite hobby, it has kept me away from my precious Forgotten Hope and IL2 for several days.

I second this. I have often been shot in the face when he unsuspectingly snuck up on me while I was reloading in a seemingly safe place. In real life, I'd say a person's instincts are either flight or fight, not flight fight or reload. Definitely if a person was in grave danger, he would just stop everything he was doing and just run like Forest. I think the only reason why this isn't included because they would have to implement some way of cutting off animation and technical issues like that. But I personally support it.

*thumbs up*

Oddly enough I was thinking about this same thing today as I desperately tried to escape from a grenade while I had my ironsights up.

Well, since I dont have the retail version yet, I dont know if its still possible but as I recall from mod version, "drop weapon" key did override every action on weapons. We used to use it to outrun nades, bayonet freaks and such. Running away empty-handed and than picking up weapon later is better than loosing your life right?

To the guy who mentioned fight or flight, I prefer flight. It's very amusing to be caught off guard with your pants down and then running away like a sissy boy and having the guy just stand their shooting and missing you or have him chase you into your friends.

Well I know for a fact sprinting interupts bayonet attach/detach. When you stop though, it still looks like you haven't done anything but you did... er let me give a example. When you first spawn hit the attach bayonet key, when the animation starts playing sprint forward. You wont see a bayonet on the gun but it is there. Er... wait, it might only work if the bayo is already attached and you sprint while taking it off. That one I know for sure, I do it all the time.

Whenever I put it on, I can never start to sprint until the animation is complete.

I'd love to have this, would save a lot of my teammates TKs from when I only saw their nade at the last second.

I have to say that I have troubles getting my is up after sprinting. I have to press at least two times to do it. Next button press overriding previous could be better idea.

At the moment it overrides everything except for reload and bolt and those cannot be overridden with the current animation system. Maybe in the future or on the next engine.

Maybe if when your reloading and you start to sprint, it will drop the current clip in your hand?

I think that you should be able to sprint with your bayonet ready to stab, and you just have to run into people :)

ehhh...actually that'd be fun, but think about how it would look like. A bunch of people charging back and forth with their bayonets at their hips like dicks trying to prick each other...

However, I'd think it would be cool to add some graphical detail where you stab the bayonet into them and it actually goes into the body and the end of the bayo shows up on the other side of the body with a bloody mess....*evil grin*. Yes I am in fact related to Jeffrey Dahmer, hahahah

As for spritning overriding everything, people might be complaining that it'll lookk unrealistic for the animations to just stop midway. But think about it, do the current animations look that realistic anyways, with the way they are just running all stick-figure-like? At least until they ahve some engine update, put some sprint override for people don't wanna die just becuase they were insane enough to reload while someone was charging at them with a bayonet.

Prone to sprint

Prone to sprint

I would love to see the sprint key take you directly from the prone position to a sprint. I'm not talking about skipping the animation of standing up, just skipping the button press required. I think this would be far more realistic and help stop people from nade spamming. Currently prone players are sitting ducks for nades, whereas IRL a prone player would be able to avoid a nade much easier.
