alright apparently when i join a game i start to lag in place and bounce around for a second, well this happens i notice that the alert "speed hack detected!!!" pops up with every consistent lag bounce. i am then banned from session because the game mistakes my lag for a hack. meaning that i cant seem to make any progress without "hacking" the game and there for cannot play it :/ any help?

If it isn't a hack, I suggest checking your network connection, check your firewalls and also check your antivirus, put an acception into your antivirus for the game as well as this can potentially reduce interferance ingame.

If you try all of these and the problem persists, virus scan your computer cause it could be something more malicious hiding in your system.

It happens to me too.

I -think- it's because of the ping. I always have to play with 200-250 ping because I live in South America, and I just got banned from a server because of that.

Although I do use a wireless connection, so it might be that too.

Such a shame, I am in one of my good days, was playing so good.

Wireless networks are known to be horribly unreliable when it comes to online gaming, though it also can be improved depending on its placement.

Tell me, where is your wireless router relative to your PC?

and xbox thats never on but my bro does enjoy downloading stuff but hes 2 floors up and on a different network i think
If he's on your network and downloading, he's zapping all your bandwidth, especially if it's torrents and I know first hand how detremental they are to an internet connection especially a shared one.

If they are downloading, hit them with something and get them to stop then try again.

yaaa that sounds about right but... but when it happens i usually just go and pull the plug, there some screaming, and he resumes his download in the morning. but its not the issue cause i wasn't having these problems before the patch came out, once that came out suddenly I'm a hacker! i think its something more internal then external to be honest.

I'm on a wireless at home and it's not by choice as the only place for my modem to be placed is right by the doorway of the apartment, my computer is in another room on the other end of the apartment, but the signal strength is excellent, my ping on servers are an average of 30-50 on the servers I play..... I have no other issues with any other games I play, such as RO:Ost, Killing Floor, BF:BC2, TF2, etc.

And I never had this problem until the last patch was installed. Before that, everything was fine. I even have PB running on my BF:BC2 and BF2 & there's never any problems with playing online..... not that I play them often these days, but that's a different story.

My symtoms are much like the description in the original post.

There are no viruses on my system, there are no spyware, as I do regular scans on my system, I make sure my registry is optimized, I installed the Steam cfg files long ago when I was having problems with Ostfront & KF staying on a server for more than 30 seconds..... which apparently had something to do with wireless connections.... and it fixed it.

I re-copied those files again yesterday which made no improvement.

Although the last game I played last night before I went to bed, I had no packet loss or speed hack warnings, my gameplay ran smoothly.... and my ping was higher than normal, of about 45-52..... out of 7 games, the 7th ran fine, though I did have a number of Germans just appear out of nowhere and killing me, while others I was targeting disappeared in front of me..... which I assume was the speed hack thing.

i think your a little off mate, whats happening to me is when i join a game i sometimes erupt in a spasm of lag which by its self only last a second and fades off and doesn't hider my game that much. but it seems like the anti-cheat software picks up my spasm's slight movement jumps as irregular speed and freaks out and call hacks on me them proceeds to kick me from the server with each spasm it seems to detect 5 or more instances of speed hacks and then i only have about a minute before it kicks me.

That's not the point, before this last update, I could use the same wireless connection and I wouldn't get kicked from a server, even if I had 200-250 of latency.

The problem is probably related to wireless connections as a whole, because, as it is said in this thread, it affects mostly us, without taking into account which one is better and which one is worse.

It is the point, they rushed out a speedhack detection in the latest patch to stop the speedhack cheaters. The way they must determin if someone is using speed hack is also affected if you drop packets. (not a great or permanent fix im sure) Wireless connection lose alot more packets than wired even if you have 'Great' Signal.

http://www.pingtest.net/ check if ur losing packets

its best to connect to a server near where the game server u play on is based.

Game's wonderful by the way, I can't wait to play it again.

I'm getting the same issue. I get a periodical lag spike and pb kicks me for it. Just measured my packet loss and there is none, maybe the game just hates wireless networks.

I have had this issue since the the last update, before was fine. I was putting it down to it being my wireless network also, but today I installed a network cable just so i could play the game. It made no difference still getting the same issues

All other games work fine, this game used to work fine. But teh screwed it up with the last update, worse still is the total LACK of a response from TWI, how they think this game will be ready in 5 days is beyond me

As you can seed from the tests there is nothing wrong with my connection, there is however something very wrong with this game, well the netcode at least
