Special Commando Grenades

I know this was brought up by a certain "so and so" person, but Ill just bring up again for debate. Since the firebug was the first class to have a special grenade, and now that the medic has a special grenade as well, i was wondering what could the other classes have for 'special grenades"? Now, for most of the other clases, there really isnt anything that would really help out, since demolitions nades do higher damage, and support specialist greandes also do higher damage, so i was thinking of the commando.


IMO, the commando has some of the most unique perk bonuses with the abilty to see health and to see cloaked zeds. So, my idea is to have special grenades that when they eexplode, they can do something special.


1) They could remove all cloaks from cloaked zeds nearby for a short time

2) They could create an invisable smoke screen that will causes any cloaked zed that walks through it, to have their cloak, removed.



For now, thats all I have, but Ill add more details later. Thoughts anyone? I mean, its not the worlds biggest difference, but it would be unique.

I like this idea actually, since it's around the Commando's signature perk, the cloak-detecting ability. It could be glass dust when it explodes, thus highlighting the targets to be easily spotted while also damaging them internally over time. For Support, Nail grenades is a must, for Demo, just higher damage, and For Berseker, throwing knives that do high damage, but only on a single target.

How about a grenade emitting smoke that significantly decreases reload times of all players within the radius?

Glass dust, perfect! It explains how damage is done over time plus it explains how it reveils hidden targets.

Seems pretty pointless since a) the majority of the commandos who aren't already level 6 like to kill the stalkers themselves, and b) stalkers are so easy to see (and kill, for that matter) anyway.

It'd make more sense if more specimens were cloaked.


I know I know, but it would help with Patriarch, and if they were to make more stealth zeds, then it would be a great benefit.

Seems pointless, more like a total nerf to the Commando rather than anything useful.

If he could throw a nade to do a little damage but stun all (trash) zeds in a certain radius, that'd be kinda cool. Unless he's up against scrakes, fleshies, sirens, and husks, it's a lifesaver.


Well, in a way, a Beserker's special grenade (if such thing were to be made) could be that he has nades stun since the beserker is one of the few classes that can easily stun zeds (yes I know others can, but just work with me here)

that makes no sense with the topic, at least contribute instead of terrible trolling...well I wouldn't say terrible, I did smirk so hats off to you on that. :cool:
The difference, of course being that Vealck's idea would be useful. I can't think of one example where a commando could throw this grenade and reveal a stalker that he wouldn't have just shot otherwise. Especially since a round of 7.62x51mm (the largest round commando uses) costs what, 2 quid? Compare that to the

smoke grenades for support would make sense, would confuse ZED's and turn them around, allowing the players to make a retreat in the face of overwhelming odd's

maybe something like a noise nade that would draw ZED's attention for a short time that would to allow the SS a chance at headshots on FP's and SC's

the removing of cloak on stalker/patty for a short time would be very handy if mando's could do that
