So far, ive Unpacked and changed Weapon Sounds to (what i say) is BETTER.but the catch right now is having to download UDK (link at the bottem) to put it ALL back together.and i dont even know if they work yet.I am pushing 50 hours a week at work and i dont really have the time for this. so ill explain what ive found out.
It IS Possiable!but VERY VERY! time consuming.
UDK takes .wav files
you have to RePack the ENTIRE SOUND folder with the UDK (cause it puts it all as one file)
I used "XCOM Enemy Unknown Modding".zip to unpack and look at the files.
If you take the files that are named "Gun.SoundNodeWave" and change the extension to "gun.ogg" you can play it in media player classic and you can actually hear (if youve heard it) the basic sound. (sounds flat as hell) but sounds like the legit weapon (so they told the truth about recording some of the sounds live)
