I spent a good 5-6 hours making dummy maps to learn the editor and i've got a grasp on it, I go in and i start making a bunch of buildings in additive, Now i wanted to add texture and colour and what not...

Theres only meshes, Can't make textures, Meshes are all collision based... So i learned BSP for nothing, I could of made it all with just meshes -_- But wait...

Meshes are designed around the tripwire maps, they don't just have a 320x320 square of floor tiling and the likes, It's all based on the already exsisting layouts on those..

So now i've spent some 5 hours laying out the ground work for a city block (complete with subways, Overhead passes, Buildings) Now i need someone to texture/Mesh it, Anyone want to team up?

There are modular static meshes you can use as floor and walls. In the content browser, search for wall or floor. you can use the 16 x 16 base static mesh and drag a material to it. Those meshes are actually pretty big and you can also resize them.

On the Internet.
I'm no 3D modeler, but I can be quite certain in saying that no one is going to care if you don't show what you've done.
Also, 5-6 hours is practically nothing... So you may want to put more time into your map before trying to convince someone else to work with you.

This is a place where people learn to create content and create content, Not a place to compare penis sizes, If you want to do that **** off back to your highschool football team.

PS your biotics lab remake, Has multiple breaking glitches, Just a yknow FYI

You have a serious attitude problem.

I could have rephrased to say that "no one is going to team up with you", my bad. Also, compare penis size? What are you on about?

Neat. Make sure to post them in the thread (unless this is just a passive aggressive remark. In which case: "someone has an attitude").

Actually there are, theres a package called "modular static set" which contains a whole bunch of square tiles and other shapes. When you open it up on the content browser right click the package and click "fully load" and they will appear. You just apply a material on them after placing. Id explain in greater detail but Im on a hurry for work.

Found em, Though i'm still going to need a fair bit of customized work simply because of the lack of choices but it's more choices than i had! got some flooring done in one of the big buildings. and the basement

Skell may have been a tad harsh, but he's got a point. People will be more inclined to join you when they see what they're working with. 5-6 hours doesn't really come off as much but you could just be a very quick learner.

If you think this forum should be "a place where people learn to create content and create content", then I'd like to see you act like it is by not treating certain modders poorly.

Excited to see what you come up with :D

Yeah just keep cracking at it. I've got 85 hours logged on my countdown map I think now...and I am still running into new issues. I haven't even messed with destructible actors yet. I've been aggressively learning it and not doing anything else with my life for a week and a half lol.

With any forum involving user created content in a video game, egos will be in high supply. I've never been involved with a PC community before, just Xbox in the past. But it's all the same. There are people who consider this their primary hobby. Take their advice seriously and their attitude with a grain of salt haha :)

So stick with it. And don't be afraid to bake your ideas longer than you want. It's so addicting to show off stuff you've made, but polish and detail to a long way on first impressions.

Haha, there's bound to be a few of those around, but based on what I've experienced and seen with KF1 modding posts, the KF modding community was one of the more supportive communities I've encountered.

I hope it carries over into KF2 :D

Thats just Skell, he comes off as harsh, like a robot or something, but he usually knows what he's talking about.
(Also i think Skell is the last person to be on the football team lol)

You should probably post at lease some visual progression on what it is your doing, cause currently, you just come off as some random who just wants others to do the work for him. Their is usually a lot of these kind of users who make these kind of threads.

Of course his map is going to have glitches, he isnt perfect, neither is the makers of the game, TWI themselves. So if this suppose to be a insult to him?

Good luck on your map and hope you finish it, cause it sounds like a map i want to make. Im gonna beat you to it :p

Pfft, the Smash Bros is much more helpful and friendlier... but that might be because its a baby game
