Some more spontaneous and random ideas for Killing Floor

First off, happy new year everyone (or if your reading this in july or something, happy whatever day your having today). After a mini hiatus from KF2 I have gained my energy to keep playing again and more energy to want to contribute to the forums. I just have a bunch of ideas that have been floating around for a while after playing other games that Killing Floor could really benefit from (but obviously won't see the light of day, will it? *hint* *hint* *wink* *kiss*)

Customizable Zeds

Probably not to the depth of survivor customization, but an option to edit the appearance or sound design of a zed. With multiplayer blending the different bundles within the horde; fighting off a bearded-lady siren alongside a cookie-monster gorefast and a reindeer scrake. The starter options to introduce this aspect of the game being the existing designs from both Killing Floor 1 & 2.

Having the competition revolving around a theme (maybe seasonal?) so everyone can edit the different zed designs and the winners being featured as official items you could earn and/or pay for.


Customizable Flashlight

This introduction would either be a mod-implementation or an in-game feature. With the feature allowing you to customize the design and colour of your flashlight.
The potential "modding" aspect could be the level of depth you could take with it and being able to edit the HUD display of Night Vision Goggles.

Sandbox Mode / Community Challenge


A sort of unofficial personal challenger to share as a "spin off" from weeklies. I know we have console commands to spawn in zeds whenever, but to be able to fully customize how a game would play out with what Zeds are spawned, how much dosh you start with, what weapons/classes are available etc. There are a plethora of Zeds, Weapons, Maps and modifiers that have been given and introduced as the years have gone by; so being able to make a challenge to share online or with friends that don't have you waiting for a specific weekly to appear or trying to make you own fun.

Endless Mode feature: Extraction

A feature that NEEDS to be added to the gamemode (aswell as Zedternal in its entirety). After a boss or milestone is met, during trader time any party member can initiate a vote to extract; with people denying the vote being allowed to continue playing. You perform an extraction that has the survivor/s travel to a certain destination on the map to holdout. Once the player/s have either held out long enough or killed enough Zeds, they can extract from the mission; considering the game a success rather than failure every time. Leaving those that haven't voted to extract to fight on.

Alternative Vs Survival mode


A fun spin on Vs Survival that (plot twist) DOESN'T involve player controlled Zeds, almost always. Two teams of survivors battle it out to acquire the most dosh and kills for their team, you cannot harm the other team, but you can sabotage their efforts. Shooting an enemy player will slow them down, hitting enemy players with melee weapons can cause dosh to spill from their precious purses (not during trader time, duh).
Since there'll be 12 survivors playing at once, the threat of Zeds will increase drastically (and not be on normal difficulty, seriously why TW?). On the final wave, the game will make an announcement. "Blue Player 1, Red Player 2; you have been chosen to take the mantle". The two teams will have the remainder of the trader time to change-up their classes and arsenals accordingly. There will be two bosses on the final wave, controlled by one player from each team with the sole goal of eliminating the enemy team; the surviving team/s gain a generous bonus to their wallets that could tip the scales for the final result, with a faster boss kill meaning more reward.
