Hi, after some research I think this has not been posted.

I was going down a big ladder, once I was near the end I decided to press space and slide down the rest of it. Once I hit the ground my soldier died. From a 2-3 meter slide in a stair?

Then I was on the roof of a one story house and decided to walk off (since it was only one story...) and then when I land I die. For me this is very unrealistic since those soldiers are well trained and should be able to jump down a little height without instantly dying.

Please look into this and if you don't agree with me, then give me some legit argument for your reasoning.

I am sorry for any inconvenience if this has been posted before or if I posted in the wrong section of the forum.

I believe it's a minor complaint among many.

I'd imagine the reasoning behind the current fall damage is that it kills believability a little bit to see people jumping off high areas all the time.

I think the current height-to-damage scale is a tad extreme, and it should be considered for tweaking.

But then again I can understand why it is the way that it is.

I don't mind it much, It doesn't happen often enough to be a complaint for me.

It's better than everybody jumping out of windows, to shoot the guy who just passed in the back.

I really would not want to fall 3 meters in real life.

Just tweak it so that if you jump from a 1 story building, you break and ankle. This is possible in game to mod.

Walking straight off a 6 foot drop in military boots plus gear could easily screw something up in your foot or legs, which would result in you moving very slowly or not moving at all. I think its probably better that they have you die from it because people would probably find sprained ankles or gimped movement too inconvenient, and it takes the possibility of jumping out of windows on the 2nd storey of your building to catch the guy who just ran in at the bottom floor.

It definitely needs tweaking IMO. On appartments, the stairs to the basement of propaganda house from the Russian side (Or the stairs on the other bridge) can kill you if you face them and sprint at them. Your soldiers takes the first two steps, then moves faster than he can move down the stairs and suffers a 1m drop which can kill you :/

I am not asking that soldier survives a major jump. But if you jump from a one story building it would be okay to let him use bandages to survive instead of just killing him, that would prevent people from jumping out all the time.

And as for when the guy was climbing down the ladder and when I was nearly touching the floor, then I press space and he slides a bit down and dies. These kind of unrealistic bugs can affect gamemodes like countdown dramaticly.

All I want is that they raise the limit a little bit and make the soldier wounded instead of dying in some cases.

I think it shouldn't kill you when falling not even that high.

If you jump from quite a high place you should roll or something or hurt you legs and lose your stamina for a 10 - 30 seconds.

I can understand 1-2 or so meters, but more than that is just silly. Especially when you are carrying all of the weight the soldier does in game. Even the MP-40 weighs 8.8 lbs.

If you where to fall 3 or so meters (9.8 feet) you would get injured... especially with 30 or so lbs of equipment. You would probably get injured enough where you can no walk for a while. While you would live, it would not be fun sitting there with broken legs unable to walk. Which is why games typically make you die.

The last thing we need is to turn RO2 into BFBC2 where we are running and jumping off of buildings like an idiot.

If you jump from quite a high place you should roll or something or hurt you legs and lose your stamina for a 10 - 30 seconds.

Lets jump 5 meters with 50+ lbs of gear and an MG42 and do a tactical roll on the brick road below you! Just what this game needs!

The fall damage feels a bit extreme, much more like RO-mod (where a drop from 1m tall crate would break your legs) than Ostfront. Jumping down from 2 meters or less shouldn't be enough to "kill" or incapacitate you, just slow you down (maybe prevent sprinting) for few seconds.

Exactly, just don't make the soldier die, just make it so people won't constantly jump from 2-3meters.

You don't die, you are just unable to continue fighting. I'd like to see any regular soldier in Stalingrad take on full equipment and do that 3 meter jump "just for fun".

after a long fall you oculd be knocked down and drop your weapon as well as making alot of noise (like when you get shot) folowed by a short geting up animation.

Pleas read the whole thread before you comment some bull****. How many times have I said that I agree with those that don't want players to jump from ridiculous heights all the time? That doesn't mean there is a solution in the middle. We need to know that this is also a video game so sometimes it is better to have things a little bit more unrealistic instead of trying to get some copy of real life, which is not possible at all.

And from my 1-3meters "jump" then I had to spawn again and I look at is that my soldier died.
