Well since there's only one gametype, what would be a reasonable setting for a match that should last about 60 to 90 minutes?

How many wins needed? Amount of time on the clock for each rounds? How many rounds?

Is it even possible to set up?

roladder uses this system:

Each team picks a map
Each team plays as both sides on each map, for a total of 4 rounds
Clock is left at default
Spectator mode is turned off

The match length in the mod would be about 90 minutes IIRC

And how dis it goes with realism clans?

Like this?

Both teams pick a map.
They play 1 side!
They have to play every selected map 2 times
?

Have not taken part in BFE, but I heard they use a mutator which exchanges the sides of a map. If this mut is also available for Ostfront, it might be a possibility to have decently balanced scrims for those socalled "realism" (I have yet to find out why restricting oneself to one single side makes it "realistic") squads, because they can change the sides without changing the army.

it is, but i think in the next campain we will try to find 2 maps for every region. and the teamswap-mut had some serious problems too with some classes like sapers.

about realism clans i think there have to be a own ladder or something, cause their restrictions IMO doesnt fit in any other form of ladder.

as manstein told, the roladder-system is quite mature. we played it for a lot of months and i like it as it is. every clan plays his "homemap" and then the map of the opponent. and its balanced because every clan has to play both sides of the map, so picking a one-side-based map will be senseless. (except you only want a draw)

that just seems even more ridiculous to me, the maps are based off specific historical scenarios, like Konigsplatz for example, how can you play that map with the Russians defending? it's silly IMO

It doesn't really work like that

Since Berlin and stalingrad kessel would probably be the last maps played after which the campaign ends.

With BFE you start at russian boarder with the germans attacking, fromt here on generals can play their game of risk :p. And us players are the dices that roll. Every week 2 maps or so are played. But because people must be able to get land back they lost the last week, there is a mutator that changed the sides. (so it wouldn't be used on koningsplatz for example ;) )
