Yes, change it in your ROEngine.ini then set it to read only and don't go into options.
Just know that this can break when new patches are released...there will be cases where you'll want a fresh engine.ini file.
It was limited so that people won't be able to see through walls and trenches.
So they need to fix that but why to limit FOV?It was limited so that people won't be able to see through walls and trenches.
Because the increased FOV made the first person camera clip through walls too often. It still happens in really tight spots, for example when going prone in small trenches, but not nearly as often as when you have 75+ FOV.So they need to fix that but why to limit FOV?
We are talking about PC only game here...![]()
So in the end we can do it hard way. Also be aware that you can't mess with options after the change the ini file or it'll revert back. So set all your other options first before modifying the ini.
You might have to make it read only after too. That's what I did at least.
And ya it works for MP too.
Even when I edit the BaseEngine.ini file to say FOVAngle=90 it still does not set it in game at 90 even when I do not go to options. Any reason for why it does this?
It's hardly the 'hard way', and people have already explained to you above as to why this has been changed. Also, please refrain from creating threads just to ask TWI a question... You might as well PM one of the staff members or developers and hope for an answer then, rather than flooding the forums with these ridiculous questions that mostly have been answered already multiple times; so use the search function, too.So in the end we can do it hard way.
Why TWI, why just not to allow to do it normal way..?
Go to: My Documents -> My Games -> RedOrchestra2 -> ROGame -> Config -> RoEngine.cfgI must be retarded, but I do not see ROEngine anywhere. Could someone please state the directions to this file.![]()
I swear i read a post by yoshi (or another TWI person) saying they did it due to performance ("optimising").It was limited so that people won't be able to see through walls and trenches.
The FoV cap change was implemented mostly due to performance issues.
