I've read about snipers during The Battle of Stalingrad and one famous sniper (I didn't know there were famous snipers) Vasily Zaytsev who had a kill count around 240 strapped a Mosin Nagant rifle scope to a PTRD-41 14.5 mm anti-tank rifle for use against Germans hiding behind walls when not firing from windows above. The bullets penetrated the brick easily.

what is this cod waw? no but seriously even if that was done in real life u are prolly only 1 of like 125 ppl in the world who actually knows that lol it will be HEAVILY crtisized for copying cod waw and even if it was done in real life (by one person) itd still feel like cod waw regardless

Yeah, if I remember correctly Zaytsev didn't like using the PTRD/PTRS because of high shot dispersion at range. Those things weren't precision-made high-caliber rifles like a modern M-82. Either way, they weren't commonly used by the snipers/DMRs represented in-game.
