Sniper maps

I like these. Usually I tend to play pretty agressively, but these sniper maps are relaxing due to their slow tempo. No objectives to cap, just try to find good positions and hope that something will pop into your sights and you have enough time to kill it.

I have never played any of them, but I would like to try. Sniping in normal games is too frantic and you usually get shot by some dude right behind you (who got there because no-one is covering flanks etc) or someone from your own team who want the sniper rifle!
And servers that run SPARTAAA and Rifleznbayoz3 (whatever it's called) should exist?
I think it would be cool if there was a four player sniper map set somewhere in Stalingrad, the team of two would have to work together to hunt down their prey in the labyrinth of destroyed buildings... I think that would be a good sniper map.

I'm just gonna agree to disagree because my explanation would offend to many "wanna-be mappers".
Same here. It can also get quite funny on voice communication when each side baits the other. It's all in good fun and in the end everyone knows it. The non-snipers should get on the server and give it a whirl.
A nice sniper only Stalingrad map would be great. Something with a little more room to manuever, yet not big enough where people couldn't find each other.
How so? Shooting targets that aren't moving isn't really a test of skill, and the ranges represented by these maps do not require a scope.
I can find a person saying for every aspect of RO that it should not be allowed (snipers, smg whores, campers with rifle, 24hours-single-map servers, tank maps, tanks, free weekends, RO:O because RO:CA was better...) keep thinking like this and RO is dead game in a half of year.

The one that exists *****.There used to be an Evil Minds (=eM= or something like that) server with a lot of default maps redesigned for sniping deathmatches and a lot of custom maps. Too bad it's no longer exists.
And the only sniper maps you can find now is SniperHeaven50, the night version. Some german server has the outside version of SniperHeaven with redicilously large open terrain thats pretty interesting.
There's also a sniper version of NovogorodMountains which is good. And that one map with the weird name, something like 'Bad Masfsomething Final' is good for sniping also.

I forget who said this, but I've been repeating it ever since: Rifle with scope is like bike with training wheel.
I've got to agree. The only thing I really loathe in any fps are the snipers. At least in RO they had the decency to limit how many snipers can be on a team at once, but that leads to tking for the holy scope.
Most of the time I see snipers in a position where they don't even need the scope. It's a crutch, thats all there is to it.
I'm not denying there are excellent snipers out there, but they are few and far between.
