I noticed now when someone is killed or drops their weapon, they no longer drop the ammo like in RO1. Why? I liked having to find ammo. Now we just pick up weapons, which is nice in the heat of battle but.. eh. Less hardcore..

Also, how come you can't shoot weapons out of soldiers hands anymore?

edit:
other than that I'm loving the beta and have over 24 hours on it already

You can. I pick up grenades, ammo for what I'm carrying, other people's guns, you name it. Open your eyeballs :)

He means picking up the bullets for the gun. in Ro1 when you kill someone they drop the weapon and bullets. so if you only pick up the weapon you have only what was in the chamber.

For a soldier to drop his weapon AND his ammo from his person is rather hard. I mean, ammo pouches are normally attached to a belt or strap. So look at picking up a fallen foe's weapon as effectively searching his body for the ammunition for the weapon next to him. There was less of a point for looking for a separate ammo drop in RO1.

That's good the way it is now... RO was awful for that, very difficult to pickup what you wanted when there were several items on the ground.

The only annoying thing about picking up weapons in RO2 is when they're near a wall. Often it's difficult to place oneself right to pick up the weapon and not take cover instead, which means the weapon doesn't get picked up.

Personally, I'd like a separate key for picking weapons up to the god-button (ctrl), but it's not a big issue, most of the time.
