100 % Agree!! Its hard to find a nice server to play on. 1 Year after Release we havent got any new content (Maps, Vehicles, Weapons, Tanks). All the promised things are missing.

Huh? No new content? What are you talking about?

:D Hard to find a nice server to play on?! I'm lying here in smoking ruins.
I personally spend some six hours a day occupied with tha care and feeding of four of them. Between 2Fj; 40-1; =TaT=; TWB; FHW... the list goes on, there are dozens. AS for content, there are now double the number of original maps, thanks to indy devs and improvments to the SDK. And there are more maps coming in weekly. C'mon now. You guys apparently have not been around for awhile. One glance at GameTracker's RO2 server lineup at 7pm. tells the whole story at a glance.

In all honesty.... If you see how many servers have people on them during the evening for us NA guys.. 300-400 people.. That is way more than RoOst 2-2.5yrs ago. The pubbers are here.. They are just really new so the battles kind of stink. Give it 3-6 months and the battles will be just as epic as the old days.. People just need to learn the maps... I just don't know why these new guys aren't banding together and forming clans... MAYBE BECAUSE TWI HASNT'T MADE A DARN LADDER?!!!!!!!!! They need to make a ladder and promote it.

I agree there. A ladder might push some guys to form up with existing clans and fight together.

I am all for these epic battles.:)

:) Since you brought it up, I'll mention something that I never have before:
The recruiting rate of our clan has been explosive compared to last year. And it's not slowing down. I attribute it to our server exposure and some of our internal policies. Many of the pubbies that choose to go there, are being absorbed by older established clans. As for the level of gaming skill. It's mixed. The player content at any given time is quite a mixture of pubbies and veterans. But noobies learn. They watch the vets and learn. those that cant, soon go elsewhere. But believe me, a lot of players are being retained and are sticking to the wall.

I think that besides the broken promises, the bad start and anything, the people got tired of the WW2 at all. Or at least of this front - the EU front. When Rising Storm is released and some other mods for other wars, such as In Country, I think the game will live again.

We are working hard to get the ladder website ready.

We hit a snag with forum integration and are working to fix it now.

The best ways you can keep help us to help you is to promote the game and get people playing it and the new custom maps from the community!

IMO RO2 is faring much better than ROOst after a year.

When I stumbled upon ROost in 2007, all I could get were a couple 24/7 Danzig and Arad servers at 150 ping. It was a little better on weekends, but hardly the way some like to portray the "glory days."

Talking about RO players its always been about quality over quantity.I would rather have 2-3 servers full of good mature players.Than 40 servers full of immature a$$hats which is what most mainstream games have. For the most part this game has a great community who are passionate about the game.

Years to come when other games is dead as a doornail this game will still have a loyal following.People who enjoy the game for what it is ....something different from the console ports.Thank Twi and Valve (Steam) for that matter in helping keep true PC gaming alive.Being able to mod and actually help make the game better by having devs that actually listen to its players.

Nothing wrong with our player base and has some of the best players/people around!

only one problem with this
less people,less money
less money ,less people working at TWI
less workers at TWI - longer waits for updates

More people more money = dumbed down gameplay, features like the unlock system, general casualizing of the game, more paid dlcs

Can't have your cake and eat it too, unfortunately.:p

True ...but TWI is kinda like a small business they have less overhead compared to other companies. Not to mention publishing their own games so they don't split the profit with a money hungry publisher like EA.So their money goes farther being a smaller team.

The mainstream numbers will always bounce around to the "Latest" game. While a smaller more niche community will remain loyal for years as they enjoy the unique gameplay it has to offer.Compared to the shovel ware console ports that's flooded the market.Only caring about the first few months after release then abandoning the game.

Also they have loyal fans who like me have bought multiple copies of the game to give to friends I have bought 4 copies of this game to give to friends.I even have a hard copy still in the plastic I am not a rich man, but I feel its a wise investment.Supporting promising up and coming Indy type companies is for me better than giving EA money ....they make enough as is.

Another things is allowing this game to be modded letting 3rd party content to flow in.Something most companies refuse to allow as far as patches. This game got more updates in the first four months than other games will see in a lifetime. So for a small dev team I think they have done very well supporting this game.

In short bigger is not always better TWI is a true old school PC developer making games for the long term.Look at Killing Floor they just got a big update years after the game is released. While not a quick huge money grab they get a steady stream of profit for the long term. This is PC gaming
