Slow multiplayer connectivity

I just purchased the game today and all is well when playing solo but when it comes to connecting to a multiplayer game, i'm stuck at the "press f10 to cancel" loading screen as it takes so long to load! Literally it takes two-three seconds till the percentage goes up by 0.1%! Any idea if this is a bug and if it is fixable?. Thanks in advance.

So what, are you stuck at the "Press F10 to cancel" screen or do you get to download something?
If the download is slow maybe you joined a modded server and you have to download huge stuff.

You can improve the overall performance a bit by doing that.
Especially the second point is interesting, as increasing the amount of RAM the game can use does enhance loading times.

I did following things to improve my performance:
1. TCP Optimizer
2. KF Tweaks
3. Enable "Dynamic Netspeed" in KF game options

Yeah it's always downloading this "KF soldier trip" thing which takes a long time. I would wait till the download finishes by my iMac just heats up pretty bad so i just cancel because i don't want anything to melt inside it (and even break it because I'm scared lol). As you can tell, i'm pretty much to computing technology stuff.

Ok, that may be a huge map. I don't know it but i can imagine that, so search servers with the stock maps. I.e. these maps you can also play in solo mode. Then you don't have to download the map first and can instantly play.
