I spent the last two hours testing with a friend some mechanics of the game. We were 200m from each other in Pavlov's House. He shot me in the stomach and put me on slow death mode, but I still managed to shoot him back and score a 200m kill after three seconds in slow death mode. Returning fire in slow death mode is waaaay too easy as the only thing it does is darken your screen. My suggestion is simple: when in slow death, the player should not be able to shoulder his weapon, restricted to hip fire. That way, he'd still be able to return fire, but would not be able to score a medium-long range kill like a healthy soldier.

More than accuracy, you don't seem to be losing strength at all. You can still bolt as fast and shoot full-auto without penalty. I propose that bolting speed gets reduced to 50% and recoil for all weapon is increased by 100% while on slow death.

Agreed. Needs tons of weapon sway added, or like some crazy, ever-worsening tilt to one side as you topple over. Been dealt lots of slow death wounds and killed people at 100m+ before I bled out. This is why I double tap people, even with the bolt-actions.

One thing I've noticed though. Not all slow deaths are equal. There are some where you literally can't do anything, and there are some where you can only do a little with difficultly. And then there are the slow deaths where you basically have full control right up to the end.

In slow death i nearly always kill my killer, very easily since i use the semi-auto rifles all the time.

so erm, yeah.

What I would like to know is how you guys got the slow death bleed out effect so closely to what happens in real life. I had more or less a heart attack one night (bit too much adderall) and blacking out was EXACTLY like what you see in RO2....extremely terrifying to say the least.

Also I think slow death should be more...sporatic. IE, you fall down sometimes or lean up against a wall or something, rather than standing completely upright. It would be really cool too if you got unloaded into with a small caliber gun, if you could fire all over the place before collapsing and dying. You know what I'm talking about, we've all seen it in movies, and while that is a **** example for a game thats going for realism. Everyone knows that you don't die instantly when shot with small caliber weapons, and you would be able to keep shooting, in some direction (not necessarily how you want). Sometime like how the guy in the white suit dies.

Just to make my point clear. Click the link to go directly to 7:34 in the video when the shooting starts. Since embedding doesn't work...also please excuse the fact that its anime. It portrayed gunfights pretty accurately in my opinion.

I've even had times where I could aim, reload and keep shooting down my iron sights while dying...which is stupid.

well, yeah, the fading may be accurate, but i guess you weren't shooting someone with a rifle while you had your attack.
You are loosing your strength rapidly, probably are panicking, have incredible pain shooting through your body and according to the 3rd-person-animation you are holding your weapon in one hand, not really the best condition to put a pinpoint-shot at the guy 50m away covering behind a wall.

Yeah exactly, I was slumped back and couldn't even move my arms, all I could do was act hysterical before I went fell over unconscious...sound also continued for a few seconds while it was black, I could hear my girlfriend screaming, then it abruptly cut to silence and I could think for maybe 1-2 more seconds before total nothingness consumed me.

Oh yeah and the muffled sound that kicks in when youre dying that sounds kind of like youre under water is EXACTLY what happens too...sound is the first to go, although not completely. its just muffled and you really can only hear bass.

Additionally, it is possible even to be shot in the heart and keep motor control for a few seconds before dying. My father was shot and killed by some gangbanging piece of **** in 1993 who unloaded a .357 into the back of his moving car. He drove maybe 100-200 yards, took a left turn, and then probably died here...but his vehicle continued down another block before his car smashed into a bunch of trees where they found him dead. I tend to think he may of been conscious, as keep a car straight on the road for an entire block without hitting anything on the side (houses, trash cans, parked cars would be difficult, especially if the alignment was even slightly off.

By the way...the vehicle was a ****ing shift. So..yeah you can do very little even with a fatal heart injury.

I say that the instant you enter the slow death mode, all you can do is hipfire. No reloading. I would even go so far as to say no bolting, but that would only add to the superiority of the automatic weapons, so maybe just reduce the bolt speed by 50%. Also, I don't remember if this is already implemented, but I think it is possible to turn around 180 degrees while in slow death and shoot someone behind you. This isn't reflected in the slow death animation, so dying players should only be able to shoot in a narrow cone in front of them.

Didn't slow death get its share of nerfs? Aiming whilst dying is now drastically more difficult. Definitely agree on no reloading, could go with slower bolting.

In 3rd person your player is stumbling and holding himself with one hand. Perhaps your aim could sort of sync up with your body animation so as you try to look through iron sights, your aim is bumped around as you play your slow death animation(You are stumbling around).

or you could do what i always do. treat them like zombies and double-tap them. about the only time i get shot by a guy in slow-death, is when i sit there, laughing at them while they slowly die. double tap solves the problem for me.
ever notice how sometimes while they're flailing about in slow death, it seems like no matter how many times you shoot them, they don't go down though? never been shot by one of those, but it seems odd that follow-up shots don't finish them off immediately.
