simple question argument

ok if I have a normal map where north is up. if I turn this map upsidedown or 180 degrees if you like. then south is up?

Then your map would be upside down.

But where is North to begin with? Reference point is always north and directions are oriented from that point.

You can have a map that has North pointing to the East, but still be correctly labled because of how the map was draw on the paper. :IS2:
