These are some simple fixes to problems that are breaking new and old mechanics, as well as generally hindering game play.

Problems and Solutions-

P- Binding Use Bandage, Use, and Cover all to Left Control has made it impossible or very difficult to bandage while next to walls, or resupply people who are next to walls or objects.

S- Allow Use/Use Bandage to be bound to a separate key, while keeping Cover to Left Control.

P- Voice Chat works, but since we cannot identify the person talking, cooperation with friendlies and punishment for trolls is difficult or impossible.

S- Go back to using the RO1 system where the players name pops up with a speaker icon next to it whenever they talk.

P- People are unable to spectate battles while teams are full or reinforcements are gone. People are also having problems switching to teams when they join as spectators.

S- Create a Spectator team option, just like in the first RO. This allows people to simply switch teams when they want to join a server, and be able to view the battles when they are unable to participate themselves.

P- The inability to easily tell someone where they need to go, or where an enemy is located without clumsily using maps or spotting functions.

S- Put a compass around the outside of the mini map, so that players can give directions with accuracy and without having to open up more HUD items.

P- The inability to easily communicate about areas on the maps to friends without using coordinates or markers.

S- Put the names of the buildings on the in-game maps so that people can understand what you are talking about immediately, and it will make it easier for people to memorize these locations.

P- Map Voting System does not work. Maps are hard to scroll through, and servers automatically switch to maps once a majority has clicked on a map.

S- Go back to RO1 style map voting with a list of maps and a time limit of 2-3 minutes where in the players cast votes as to what maps to play. The majority wins, but only after the time limit has been reached.

P- Squad leaders lack benefits and the ability to easily lead their squads.

S- (this is the only not simple solution)

For Casual Game modes- Allow for players to spawn on the SL anywhere on the map (including cap zones), unless the SL is wounded or in a cramped space where it is not possible to fit more people.

For Hardcore Game modes- Take away the ability to spawn on SL, but keep the bonuses that one gets for sticking with the SL and protecting him.

For both modes, making the squad leader symbol on the minimap and map bigger would help people find them. And making the Move markers and Attack markers more vibrant with perhaps arrows on the minimap that help show you the direction you need to go without looking at the full map.

That is all.

This is so incredibly crucial. If the devs are using the BETA to test the maps, then not having a balanced amount of map play kinda undercuts that. From the first day of the BETA i've played roughly 30 hours. I've played a whole two games on FallenFighters TE, and only found out after the initial maps were rotated out that is was possible to play CD on Appartments.

This is MUCH needed. It was perfect in RO1 to see the names of the locations.

All great suggestions.

another problem:

-artillery buttf***s the frame rate down to powerpoint levels.

-artillery lasts too long. and even after that annoying barrage that lasts for 15min, you still only get 1 kill

EDIT: So I followed Don Drapers advice(I knew this just didn't think about it XD), still very very annoying to see red overused though.

I don't agree that realism mode should remove the ability of spawning on the squad leader though. The squad leader is identifyable by how he looks so it's perfectly clear for enemies that if they see the squad leader, they need to kill him fast or they can expect his squad to be close by.

Please, I'm not kidding. But I'm trying to read this post but the red letters are extremely annoying to read, it just turns very blurry.
I will edit this post with a proper response as soon as I'm able to read it in the non-red version.

ummm just hight light the text with the mouse and it will be white on blue.

easy.

great suggestions by the way.

To be honest the whole thread is pointless, its a beta and the majority of your suggestions may already have been done, apart from naming the of buildings which will never happen... Like real soldiers why don't you just create names for them yourself and communicate that to your team mates, that is what I do.

Nice summary of easy fixes and 'why fix it if it ain't broken?' solutions;)

It's a beta and things may already have been fixed, but they may have not been fixed already... dunno what exactly is your point?
So we should refrain from giving suggestions because perhaps they have corrected this already, than what use has the beta?

Also soldiers are able to write... I dunno how it was back in the day, but I don't see how one couldn't have taken a pencil and wrote 'Brothel defense line' in the map. It doesn't have to be the real names, just some names will do.
In a clan you can easily give building names everybody will follow, but in pub games that is just impossible. One guy understands the 'big red house' is the one on C5, while others named a building in F2 the 'Big red house'.

DONT USE RED TEXT. Its hard on the eyes to read on the background : / . and you even bolded it... I think the bolding might be the problem.

All good points and would definitely improve matters.

I would like to add something to this:
P- The inability to easily communicate about areas on the maps to friends without using coordinates or markers.

I would like to be able to use the console inspired, communications widget using number keys, so that common requests or commands can be bound to a single key e.g. reinforcements needed, need ammo etc.

I would also like to see the player location appearing in the message, especially when asking for reinforcements in a capture zone.

The RO1 method of being able to select a capture point location is greatly missed. As a squad leader I find it almost impossible to tell my squad to capture a point.

Ripvanwinkle just reminde me how I always wonder where people are. They yell 'I need Ammo!!!' and I frantically look around, coming to the conclusion that I have no idea where they are.

IIRC in Ro=O1 their approximate location was in chat also. But I am not sure

The names of the capture points are already in the game. West Bridge, East Bridge, Propaganda House, they are already in the game. They are just not written on the in-game maps. Every building doesn't need to be named, but the capture points that already have names, should be labeled on the maps. Adding text to the map wouldn't be anything labor intensive.

And an Apology to everyone about the red, I won't do it again.

Just to add on to a possible fix, or rather incentive to use SL's properly by both the Squad Members and the Squad Leaders themselves.

Give points for spawning in on your squad leader, not with every spawn, but perhaps with like every 3 or 5 spawns. Then players have to consistently do it, and the SL has to continue to do his job. The SL would also get a bonus for allowing 3-5 spawns.

As for Order Bonuses, the SL could click on the objectives on the map and be able to select attack and defend. If an attack order is given, he would get a bonus for any of his squad members that are in the capture zone when it is captured. For defense, he would get a bonus for any enemies killed by his Squad Members in/from the capture zone. The Squad Members would also get extra points for obeying the commands.
