Hi everybody!

I've been thinking about what I would write in this thread and haven't really come to any conclusions. I'll start off by saying it's probably in the wrong section but this is the place I read the most :) The point is I want to tell TWI and the RO community how much I appreciate them!

A lot of people on here seem like extremely intelligent, mature, and respectable people. Even when I totally disagree with you, I know you're my comrades. My life for the past 5 years has been full of drugs and insomnia and death and venomous relations with family, friends, co-workers, and women. Strangely, I've found it a cathartic experience freezing my *** off in a Foxhole on the Ostfront. Some of the most fun I've had has been shared with random people from California to Lithuania to China, playing this beautiful monster we call RO.

I had a 30 minute break at my job and I spent what little time I had reading the TWI poll about changes they are making. EVERYTHING on that poll sounded so good. As of now, I can only enjoy Ro2 when I drive 30 minutes (or 75 minutes depending on NJ traffic ) to my brother's place and that's at 25 FPS. So I'm saving up my cash and getting a true gaming rig and then I can really play some serious Ro!

I also suspect that with TWI working so diligently on the game, and with incredible quad core i5s and i7s becoming the industry standard, these performance issues will ultimately be conquered. In sync with this forums constructive input regarding gameplay, we've got a hell of a game on our hands.

I've NEVER seen so many different people from different walks of life or the planet drawn to a game like this. It's like a death metal band or a twisted yet genius writer. RO defies, almost defiles, the paradigm.

Anyway, happy holidays and cheers and you guys are the best and I'm glad I spend what limited leisure I enjoy in this lifetime with you gents. :IS2:

What an excellent post Grizzly :)

I agree that we have a great community here. Sure, we disagree - we occasionally argue. But on the whole, people are pretty civil to each other and we have some great discussions :) Like you say we have a good mix of people from around the world - which seems to cause very few problems, if any at all. It's nice to see people united for a common goal - and I'm really hoping that 2012 will see TWI focussing (much!) more on RO2, and blitzing the current bug/request list in a timely fashion. I'm also hoping that all of the current community, and of course some fresh meat... I mean "new members"... will be around to enjoy the results of this labour :)

Over the Christmas holidays, I'll be sure to raise a glass or two to the community. Cheers! :)

You should maybe consider building a computer yourself. It is not really that difficult. Anything you need to know a quick google search will help you out. Plus you will save a ton of money, and learn something new.

Plus you will get, or at least I do, great satisfaction when you look over at your computer, and say to yourself, yep, I built that thing.

When something goes wrong with it down the road, such as a fried motherboard, you will know exactly how to fix it. Saving you 100s of dollars.

What ever you do dont purchase one off the shelf at bestbuy or someplace like that. A true gaming rig does not have a corporate logo on it.

Really good advice here

I will never buy another pre built PC I built my own for about 600$ and its by no means a low end rig i5 2500k gtx 460 8 gigs of ram.Plenty of room for future upgrades for cheap!

When you pay 1500-3 k for a gaming PC you really are just buying the name you can build the same system much cheaper ;)

Awesome words Grizz! I hope those challenges you mention are largely behind you now! If not, I applaud your effort to get them behind you! Way to go. Great post.

And almost to defy your words, two people actually neg-repped it. Say what? How could anyone possibly down vote a neutral, positive piece like that? smh

Hi everybody!
I had a 30 minute break at my job and I spent what little time I had reading the TWI poll about changes they are making. EVERYTHING on that poll sounded so good.

Are you reading the same poll? You want a game determined by a commitee? not by the guys with the vision? the poll looks more like a cry in the dark.

I also suspect that with TWI working so diligently on the game, and with incredible quad core i5s and i7s becoming the industry standard, these performance issues will ultimately be conquered. In sync with this forums constructive input regarding gameplay, we've got a hell of a game on our hands.

What gives you that impression?
Im doubtfull it will ever support all the cores of the newer i7's.

Peace on you Grizzly. Thanks for the happypost :)

Totally agreeing that selfmade comps are the best. If you pick together parts that have about a year behind them the price drops massively and you still get a machine that runs everything without a hitch. Also you get a greater understanding of it and feel secure fixing and tinkering forever.
It's really easy and easily becomes a obsession to keep you away from any "bad" urges.
Compared to drugs, computer building is cheap and the high lasts longer :)
