my pc is realy bad i mean i can run RO becuause it doesnt take alot of stuff but i dont have enoug ram to run BF2 and nothing to run cod 4.

well tank you all for the help and every thing, i actually think i might buy
cod 2 and counter strike source or unreal 2004 if i can find it for $20 at bestbuy or circuit city!

I wouldn't bother with COD2, unless they sorted the cheater problem out and poor gameplay (LOL). CS:S is good but why don't you save up for the Orange Box? That comes with CS:S I think (free if you have a copy of HL2, and that comes with Orange Box?) + you get Portal and TF2 as well. Really though COD2 is a waste of money imo. RO + Orange Box is the best choice imo.

As others said..buy it. Its like a huge amouth of exiciting gameplay for like 10 bucks. I even cant buy new games because i KNOW that i got riped off with 50 euros and get gameplay for like what...30h ? I have RO since like..mhhh 18 months maybe ?

I originaly buyed it because i was bored and it was cheap. Started out as tanker but quickly got addicted with the infantry combat. Since i allways came late to servers i allways got stuck with the rifle. A good way to learn the importance of cover and planning your positions in regards to exit routes, incomming enemys and stuff. I think its even more of a thinking game than all the other shooters out there. ( at least those i played )

So i went and played alot of pubs on various maps. But then i joined a clan and feeled its a complete new game. The organized battles are so diffrent to your useall pub play. I still enjoi pubs but those matches thought me alot about what ro really is.

to summ it up...go buy it..and buy one for your friend too...

i am gonna get unreal 2004 if i can find it for $20 at best buy or cirsuit city and i am going to get CS:S , and no CS:S does not come with the prange box because i have the orange box.

i might buy RO if i can find it at a store and it is $20 and i want it for $10 i am not going to get cod 2.

Just to make sure: you don't need Unreal 2004 to play RO.
RO is a standalone game nowadays.

This is a definate game to buy, I've been playing since the game came out started a clan with a buddy of mine and we've been kickin it since then.

I played day of defeat source and CS I found them boring after a while as they had limits on maps. Playing RO for so long the realism makes you push those other games out of the way. The greatest thing I like about this game is that the more you play and practice the more skillful you get.

As being in a clan you have to train for matches so you want to be your best. Joining a clan of choice is a good way for players to get training , and go to events like matches or even the RO ladder.

I have no regrets, for $20 its worth more than that. For those that think RO is dying, I beg to differ, there are 3 major mods in the works for RO that cover different theaters of the War and I dont know about anyone else but my 187th clan and myself are looking forward to the mods.

I tried going back to Day of defeat and the run and gun and the closet size maps are unappealing, every dumbass wants to be a sniper, and having cross hairs and not useing the iron sight really ruins it.

taking out the crosshairs was the best thing they could do in a game, I play operation flashpoint WW2 mods and I have turned off all the crosshairs, and now the game is more challenging, scary and exciting, your pitting your skills againsted the enemy.

RO is worth it!

Sooner or later all fps games will aim at a more mature gamer who dont want gamey cs kiddie attracting x-hairs!

Because the younger generation are going to be more console orientated, shooters will have to compete with all the other genres & lose miserably! But there will still be passionate developers out there who will develop for the pc generation, and things can only get better in that respect!

So forgot about not trying a game just because SHOCK HORROR theres no xhairs!! Trust me, you will love the balance of realism AND gameplay this game & her free mods have to offer

this game is not gonna die so easily, the mod version was running perfectly with maybe only 3 or 4 constantly populated servers for more than 2 years, and it only died because ROstfront was released and everyone moved here

If you don't have enough Ram for BF2 you won't be able to run RO properly either, I'm afraid.

Don't let people discourage you from getting CoD2 btw. The biggest problem the game has is its community. The gameplay is "rubbish" to RO fanatics because it isn't realistic. Simple as that. It is a fast-paced, run and gun, jumping all over the place kind of gameplay and the iron-sights and the world war 2 setting indicate something different so expecations clash with what the game is actually all about.

Get RO, it definetly has a steep learning curb after playing games like DODS & CS where you can pretty much run rampart. The style of play is harder to master, especially using the iron sights. Has taken me a while to get into it but i'm now hooked! you won't regret it
