Hi all!

I would like your opinion on if I should buy this game from the steam sale. I should mention that I am completely aware of what kind of game it is and it being realistic blah blah blah. I have followed it immensely for some time and decided not to buy it due to all of the negative feedback (mainly from launch period).

How has the follow up support been? Has the game improved a lot? I originally heard so many bad things about the persistence being broken. Is this still the case? Also, I have heard about features being removed, although I know nothing more on this subject. Can anyone clarify?

Whatever you guys can answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You should buy the game. Support has been great. Most developers will release a game, focus for a short while only on critical bugs and quickly move on to paid DLC or their next project. That's not TWI. Granted, it could be argued that RO2 was consciously released in an unfinished state. That's true, I'll agree with that. But the game has improved a lot, and will continue to. TWI will support their game exceptionally well even given its release state. They earned this reputation with both RO1 (the support experience with RO1 was eye-opening) and Killing Floor, and they are evidently not about to change that on this game. Also with BF3 you are not going to get mod value out of it like RO2. Ignore the complaints and try it with an open mind; it's a very affordable game, especially at sale price. If you enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself.

It's worth it, definitely. Even though it may not be the all-perfect and glorious supernova of a game that many a player wanted it is still a great game and one from which much joy and satisfaction can be extracted. Cheers!

It's definitely worth it, i've never had a thrill in FPS games like I do in RO2. Buy it ! It takes time getting used to the game's particularities, but it's SO immersive, once you get hooked : )

Buying a TWI game is an investment. Over time, with the subsequent patches and additional FREE content, it will get better and better. Even better yet, they listen to their community on what we want changed.

Probably the best developer out there, IMO.

But ... it's so delicious

Also, do buy this game. You will love it. You will find that you will spend complete afternoon's playing it without stop to only notice how much time you've spent playing when it's dark.

I love this game I've started to do crazy things. When I play on Commisar's House or Fallen Fighters I sometimes put on my polar gloves and start playing with them on.
Sure it's difficult as hell but it immerses you imidietly into the game.

Yeah man, chesse all the way, chesse everyday. Some say I am simple because I just eat chesse. I say cheese is the **** yo, you better recognize  chesse > :IS2:

If i'd buy it for anything, it's the great community. I know things are a little turbulent on the forums here, but when things settle down you'll find a great group of people who will want to play for a long time.

3 months ago I would have said: WAIT!!!! Too much trouble that is killing the atmosphere and fun in the game.

Now, I see light on the horizon again. The way to RO 2 becoming a very good game is far from finished but it's getting there, I am sure now. TWI so far has greatly increased the performance of the game and will add new content, I am sure.

A real realism mode is still missing, but I am convinced the community will take care of it. Plus, tons of maps are going to come in the next few months.

Buy it and think of it as a good game with the potential to become a great game.

If you don't know RO 1, you might even love it from the first minute on, not sure.

TWI still think of majority of paying forumrites' opinion as trash.

You can know what they think of followers by the fact that they sold beta for 40 bucks.

They did polish the game playable 3 months after release, may be they still need to learn lessons financially also, it's not like current ro2 is must have for hard core fps gamers 'cos it's not.

their needs to be a Free-2-Play-Christmas-Day, cause 20$ let alone 50 is valuable to me,if i could sample the game it would ease my mind, and sure others would aswell

They have stated that it isn't quite ready for a free 2 play or free weekend. When it is ready, I hope it attracts a lot of people.

Pay attention to this if the devs believe its not ready to let people play it for free than why on earth would it be worth paying money for?
my recommendation is to wait. steam will have another sale soon enough and hopefully a free weekend in the not so distant future. I wouldn't recommend it in its current state and have told friends interested to wait for some more patches. The game is really light on content and missing a alot of features that were advertised at launch. I believe once all this is in the game and some more patches (and hopefully something to fix the hit reg issue or at least make it acceptable) are done the game will flourish. Its got a solid base and has tons of potential tripwire just needs a little more time people are right in saying this game will become badass though its easy to see the potential

hmmmm. Still many things missing that were planned and still coming.
I think the game is still a little buggy but everything that matters works as well as any other budget game.

If you like ww2 east front at all and FPS I would grab it, you will have a ball. The atmosphere and immersion is the best I have ever experienced in a FPS shooter.

I would say buy this game. I've played over 180hrs of RO2 multiplayer and absolutely love this game. It's a solid shooter that still has some server performance issues to work out. It has more than paid for itself in entertainment value and should continue to get better.
