Hi all!

I would like your opinion on if I should buy this game from the steam sale. I should mention that I am completely aware of what kind of game it is and it being realistic blah blah blah. I have followed it immensely for some time and decided not to buy it due to all of the negative feedback (mainly from launch period).

How has the follow up support been? Has the game improved a lot? I originally heard so many bad things about the persistence being broken. Is this still the case? Also, I have heard about features being removed, although I know nothing more on this subject. Can anyone clarify?

Whatever you guys can answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Follow up support was pretty good actually, they are actually trying to finish the game post-launch. Some of the technical problems are taken care of, including ranking system, performance(they stripped some maps of lots of minor details in the process) but some crashes remain.

Some features like online campaign, coop, clan match features are still missing with no ETA. Some of the other features are very/basic useless(squads, commo rose to name a few) and still need attention.

Gameplay-wise it's not that "realistic" as you might think, it plays a lot faster than RO(almost CoD levels sometimes) adding high damage and crowded maps into equation turns it into a meat grinder. Devs recently shared that they are thinking about gameplay changes or possibly a realism mode, though it probably won't come for another couple of months. Some maps still have serious balancing issues. Though devs say there are at least 4 maps in the works now, which are probably larger than the current ones. Also player count has come down considerably since release.

I think they will be doing free weekends in the near future(probably after a massive update/extra content release), you might think about waiting for them and see for yourself.

I think I will wait then. I want this game to be good and really would like a change from Battlefield 3. I enjoyed the brief amount of time that I played RO and love the WWII setting. Thanks a bunch for the honest feedback and will check in for updates on this game.

You've played the beta and full game combined for 500 hours? How is that even possible?

Hmmm.. seems to be a filter on what posts go through. Didn't say anything bad but my posts are not showing up or approved.

Not to mention we are getting our first tastes of community maps, which are promissing, and TWI has shown that they aren't ignoring our cries (at least not outright) by lowering the number of assaults and elite riflemen, I think now is a good time to come on board. Especially recommended if you've been wanting an eastern front shooter or an in-between CoD and ArmA type thing because it's not like there's going to be many alternatives coming out soon anyway, so at any rate one would have to be patient if they didn't think the game is up to expectations, either waiting for content/fixes or a new game. Personnally I'm also having a blast.

Personally, it is definitely worth the sale price and probably the regular price too. I say that despite some issues I have with the Realism mode not being realistic enough (for me) and me wanting to punch the monitor every time I have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for the server browser to load the server list :D

I would buy it. It`s cheap compared to how the game is.

I have played 366hrs incl. the beta.

BF3 had for example also a bad start.

There are coming more maps / updates / and other mods.

I think you eat a very unhealthy amount of chesse sir.

But ... it's so delicious

Also, do buy this game. You will love it. You will find that you will spend complete afternoon's playing it without stop to only notice how much time you've spent playing when it's dark.

I love this game I've started to do crazy things. When I play on Commisar's House or Fallen Fighters I sometimes put on my polar gloves and start playing with them on.
Sure it's difficult as hell but it immerses you imidietly into the game.
