Shotguns need a small buff in terms of damage because they deal way too low dmg (especially in comparison to Mr. Sharpshooters). 1 shotgun shot doesnt even 1 hit a gorefast on hard (rarely does) a whole clip of AA12 bullets doesnt kill a FP while the m14 kills him in a few headshots or crossbow in 2? headshots. Like how can a goddamn headshot from a rifle be stronger than a shot full of lead in your ***?

Support is pretty much useless on hard+ difficulties -.-

Hahahahaha!
1: Corridor full of zombies
2: spam with aa12
3: empty corridor (a corridor full of scrakes, mind you)
Also try aiming somewhat for the head with gorefasts.

If anything, support is one of the more overpowered classes imo cause he gets more bonuses than he needs (more grenades? More grenade damage? Carry more?)

What a comedian! Support specs are one of the best damage dealing classes in the game

No sir. I am lvl6 support and it works fine on suicidal. I go pumpshotgun+aa12 all the way, aa12 for biggies and regular for everything else. I can easily bring down 1 FP and with a little effort 2 FPs without taking any dmg. You headshot with the sharpshooterperk why not try it with the support aswell.

And for the gorefasts, aim! Just because your using shotguns doesn't mean you don't need to aim, and that goes for all speciments. You have to aim to kill a gorey with crossbow and m14 aswell. The only weapons that can kill gorefasts with one shot to the body is huntingshotgun, pipebomb, grenade, nadelaunchers, law. (hope I didn't oversee anything)

I have a feeling that you're shooting from a "medium" distance, where your pellets are spraying all over the place and (surprise, surprise) you're not killing anything very quickly.
If this is the case, or some variation of it, you need to think harder about the gun you are using and how it should be used.
Support Specialist has to get pretty close - that's the way the shotguns are designed to work. Within about 1-2 metres from your enemy.

Even if support was underpowered, which it totally isn't, think about:

What would hurt more, if I throw a handful of gravel at you, or a dart? A fleshpound would (I assume) have very hard skin, taking less damage from buckshot type weapons, and taking the same damage as anyone else would from high pierce type weapons.

Besides, if you tried hitting them with more than 1 pellet per shot, it might be more effective. And if you still suck with it, play something else (class of course, who would possibly want to play a different game?)

Dude wtf? how you can't kill a gorefast with a shotgun on hard? i kill gorefasts on suicidal with 1 shoot.

Tip: Aim for the head.

For me the shotgun it's just perfect, i'm level 6 and i almost never die on hard, just on suicidal sometimes.

You have to bear in mind that the shotgun fires pellets, and the amount of damage dealt depends on the amount of pellets that hit the target. Ideally you want to be as close to your opponent as possible when firing, without risk of them damaging you.

Remember to always aim for the head, and remember that the pellets can penetrate multiple targets, so line up multiple enemies for best use of ammunition.

Of course, the amount of damage you deal also depends on your perk level. What level are you?

You might be shooting them from a distance or in a high ping server. The latter sometimes makes it look like it takes 2-3 shot to down gorefasts.

Either way, shotguns are not anywhere near underpowered.

Nah, the problem is just that currently sharpshooters make everything look like it deals way too little damage in comparison.

Sharpshooters are definitely the most powerful class, they own everything, from close, from afar, fleshpounds, 100% damage headshots, laser precision....

I don't think the shotgun is underpowered at all. I played Support the other night while helping a friend learn what KF is all about. I was amazed at the damage the shotgun does! I had forgotten how powerful it was since I haven't played that perk for awhile, and the AA12? Forget about it! Can anyone say "street sweeper?" :D

I don't think that Support Specialist is "OP" because the level up requirements are by far the easiest out of all the perk. All you have to do is blast enemies, and to tell you the truth welding doors is a joke, once you're level 3 you can just weld/unweld/weld... then wow level 6! I just find this to be the most beginner friendly perk in the game. And as for the AA12, aim for the head at point blank = LOTS of dead zeds.
PS: Don't use automatic for the AA12, you're just going to throw ammo away, and you won't be able to take advantage of the AA12's amazing
accuracy!

Shotgun is overpowered, it has a flashlight. Add a damage nerf because of that. /sarcasm

Shotguns are fine. The AA12 may be a bit overpowered, but it's a pretty expensive weapon. With 4000 pounds it's even the most expensive weapon in the game. The M14 EBR costs 1500 pounds LESS than the AA12, same for the SCAR.

I don't think OP is trolling, probably got caught by surprise being majorly outgunned by some sharpies in a game.

If anyone cares, I made this chart a while back, before the latest update (Or maybe even before the one before that), it's a breakdown of weapon values and such.

Of course it doesn't include the new weapons at all, and it doesn't take DPS into consideration, but is just a breakdown on how weapons perform without perks assuming you make use of their full ammo potential in the course of a game. It's basically a way of answering "How much damage can a weapon theoretically pack, maximum?" This is why the dual pistols come in after the single pistols because their potential damage is the same due to the same amt of ammo, and they were just sorted after the single ones, alphabetically.

I'm too busy with my job and modding I do for another game to come up with new weapon stats, but if someone is interested and can tell me where to get the new weapon numbers, I'll whip up some more comparison type sheets. (Doesn't really take weapon penetration into account, either. I can't be arsed to fix that. Flamethrower actually probably comes out looking less crappy than it should be on the sheet, not sure where I came up with the 3 targets for flamer as opposed to 2 for shotties. And the "potential" damage of shotties, if you took penetration into better account, could probably be a lot higher.)

Also, like said, this is old data, so FWIW...

i suggest you know little about the support. I get all of my achievements for beating maps on suicidal playing solo with support. why? because the double barrel with both barrel fire mode kills scrakes, and 1/2 kills fp's. not to mention every hit does much more damage as a headshot, if you want to 1 hit kill scrakes then aim for their upper chest / head, even with the pump shotgun this will finish them off. Also 1 clip from an aa12 will kill an fp on hard and suicidal. (although i ususaly save some aa12 ammo by first getting close and giving him a double barrel, then switching to aa12, using ironsights trained on his neck and firing full auto till he drops)
